May 31st 2011 10:35AM I completely agree with the need to start making the move away from Satrina. Over the years I had grown too dependent on it. With Cata, we lost the ability to right click buffs off while using SBF(and other similar addons). That's when I started looking for new addons to manage my buffs. I am yet to come across something with the large number of options that SBF provides. If only Elkano had a few more tweaking options to get some icons and filtering. Raven, while being great for monitoring some stuff, is not quite in the same league as SBF. I would really like to hear what other readers have to say about SBF replacements.
About Naina's UI, the fact that it is not a widescreen makes it look slightly more cluttered, but this is an excellent example of how redundant Unit frames can be with the right setup.
May 3rd 2011 7:27PM Power Torrent is better at mana regen than Heartsong last time I checked.
Nothing new here, but good to have a post with vital links all in one place. Thank you.
Apr 29th 2011 9:38PM The hunter's set looks like the only saving grace in an otherwise lackluster display.
And seriously, Paladin set looks ugly.
Overall, I think blizz needs to hire new people in their design team. Tier sets have gone from bad to worse since wrath launched.
Apr 26th 2011 11:01PM Got about 1-5 fps while running the gauntlet in ZA. Logged off, disabled recount and MSBT. I was back to 100+ fps after that.
Cant imagine why that happened, but it was severe.
Apr 26th 2011 10:50PM After 20-30 times of running Deadmines, I used to find it pretty damn long and boring for a lvl 85 heroic. Ditto for SFK. Deadmines, to make matters worse, has no boss that you can skip.
Apr 26th 2011 10:46PM I finished this in a PuG after the restarts on my DK tank. Took us just over 2 hours, only because we were killing a lot of useless stuff to complete the quests. This guide did help a lot though.
Ours was a melee heavy group, and we had serious trouble on the first boss, Venoxis. After 3 wipes, I finally DPSd the boss alone for the last 15% or so, as toxic link kept killing our melee. Alone in melee range, almost all the damage is avoidable, when he goes into snake form, you may want to pop some minor CDs if you are tanking/healing. Pop BIG CDs if the healer is dead.
Mandokir was a joke after that. This fight can easily be done without bothering about the raptor if you have any decent dps in the group.
Kinara was being called a healer nightmare, I cannot imagine why. A full raid geared tank can easily pull ALL the adds and not take any significant damage. I would recommend pulling 8 panthers at a time, and use a CD if u pull more. Its the trash before her that you may need to be careful of. They do a nasty whirlwind, which in our melee group was not pleasant.
Zanzil proved to be a pain as he is very hard to position. While his spells are interrupt-able, he seems immune to any kind of silence and I found it very hard to move him more than a few steps. Again, this fight is not melee friendly. We found it easiest to tank him near the green cauldron. Adds take priority over boss. And you can have more than 1 cauldron buff at a time. So if you are running away from the green one, just click it to be safe. Only 1 person needs to go to the frost cauldron, and unless he is the one getting focused, it can be done by a single person. The zombies can be annoying if left alone. 3-4 people grabbing the fire makes quick work of them. You don't want berserkers and zombies up at the same time for too long. Note: when Zanzil says "little one", he really means "BIG one"
Jindo P1 is a joke, I just wish he had a larger hitbox, as he mostly managed to get inside the bubble with me. Before the fight, kill the 2 adds nearest to the stairs leading up to Jindo. When P2 starts, grab anyone first and once the first bubble is gone, kill some spirits along with the chain. The Add does leave a void zone, so one needs to be careful not to stand in it. While the dps is on the chains go and grab the add on the other side, by the time he jumps, the 1st chain will probably be dead. If you have a melee heavy group, it may be better to wait for the chain to be completely killed before bringing a new add. By the time the 2nd chain is down to half, the first add would have re-spawned, so you don't need to go all the way around to grab a new add. If you don't let the number of spirits go out of control, this is a fairly simple fight.
Apr 26th 2011 10:14PM WTB edit button.
Either that or we killed him too fast.
Apr 26th 2011 10:13PM He will choose 2 random forms instead of all 4 at 85.
Apr 26th 2011 9:53PM Just finished ZG on my tank, and AoE threat seems to be an issue, had trouble on some trash packs, and on the Panther Boss fight( which was retarded-ly easy, unlike what most videos or guides suggest), after dropping D&D and using pestilence off the boss to get diseases onto them, i could not hold aggro after our feral druid started his swipe spam.
On a side note: Most guides seem to suggest pulling 4 adds at a time, we found it very easy even after pulling 8 at a time( one side), made the fight finish faster. I did pop IBF, but i dont think it was really needed.
Apr 20th 2011 8:26AM Let's face it, Cata dailies are just annoying for most classes.
1. Therazane's 5-10 day run is super low on gold income. You might as well put on their tabard and grind heroics. After I got Pebble on my heler after 3 months, I just stopped going there on all toons.
2. Tol Barad: If you are a new lvl 85 and a clothie, be prepared to die. A LOT! The only reason I still do the TB dailies is to pass the time while I wait for my dps queue to come up. Haven't been there a while on my healer or tank.
3. JC dailies - If they require me to cut any gem, I skip it.
4. Uldum dailys - Fun for the first week maybe, now Its not worth the time.
