WoW Insider's BlizzCon 2011 predictions {WoW}

Oct 19th 2011 6:38PM I was pretty pumped for the upcoming blizzcon, but some of the predictions here worry me that my expectations for the new expac may be too high. My personal belief was that something big was in the works - but I guess we'll see.

As much as Diablo deserves shared spotlight, I would be truly amazed if it took over the con given that Wow is still where the money and loyal players reside. You build with an eye to the future, but never at the expense of your current success.

Not long until we find out tho!

The OverAchiever: Guide to Midsummer 2011 achievements, part 2 {WoW}

Jun 20th 2011 2:19PM As much as I love my Blizz ... they REALLY need to freshen up all these old acheives.

If you are a new player, then great - you have a bunch of fun holiday acheives to work on. If you are like the vast majority of the player base and have been playing this game for many years, then this is just the same old content that it was yesterday.

I'm rooting for you Blizz, but c'mon - give us something new.

Activision Blizzard posts record profits, WoW subs declining [Updated] {Massively}

May 13th 2011 10:58AM Yea, I played RIFT for a month and went back to WoW. Made me appreciate WoW again - especially the character movement and animation. Still ready for something less cartoonish than WoW, but love raiding again and enjoying a game with more than just gather/kill. Cheers!

Breakfast Topic: What won't you miss about Wrath? {WoW}

Sep 25th 2010 8:07AM Although I enjoyed Wrath, I will not miss the nerfbat that Blizzard took to almost all facets of the game resulting in overly easy dungeons and raids. I also will not miss the quick-death AOEfest that most BG's turned into.

Bring on Cata baby! I'm excited by what I've seen coming down the pipe :)

Editorial: Thoughts on the Ensidia ban {WoW}

Feb 6th 2010 12:26PM There are just too many convenient varibles by Ensidia to give them any benfit of the doubt. No video is the paramount among them since it is so out of character not to post one for them. The low key behavior after they got it was also out of character. It is also a giant mark against anyone that gets the bugged kill, but does not say a word until Blizzard announces the bugged mechanic. These and many other signs all point to a guild that was knowingly playing the 'grey area' and hoping to get away with it. Glad Blizz stepped up and dissapointed in ensidia's responses ( and if Muqq doesn't quit as he suggests he will, then toss him out on his ass and have a nice day! ).

WoW 5th Anniversary Giveaway: 2 Tuskarr Kite loot codes {WoW}

Lyphe :)

Breakfast Topic: Would you ninja the Onyxia mount? {WoW}

Nov 6th 2009 10:07AM
The minute you are willing to ninja-loot in a game like WoW, you've just learned something about yourself.

You are the guy that places himself first at all costs. You are the guy that would turn on his friends in a bad situation to save himself. You are the guy that parks in handicap spaces just to get a better spot. You are the guy that would rather hide instead of fight for a good cause. You are the guy that always has an excuse. You are the guy that is willing to screw 24 other people in a raid just so you can pretend you earned something that you didn't.

Real life or game life, your actions define who you are. You'll probably justify it a million different ways or blow it off as no big deal, but in the end you are just a petty thief that nobody respects. And if the price of your character is a few in-game pixels ... then good luck with the rest of your life lol cause the final joke is on you!

Cheers! Lyphe :)

Breakfast Topic: How do you feel about the new LFG system? {WoW}

Oct 29th 2009 12:37PM
Although I love the new LFG system, it worries me that we can be ported directly into the instance from anywhere without having to physically travel there.

WoW already suffers from regions feeling sparse, abandoned, and devoid of players. With this feature, it will further exacerbate the problem. Have you vistied a BG room since they introduced the ability to join from anywhere? I know I haven't. How often does anyone go to Darnassus? Pretty much never since there is no reason for it. The only places you really see players are in Dalaran, Icecrown, and the old capital cities near the AH.

Not only does this create an empty feeling anywhere outside of these zones, but it over-concentrates too many players in one zone such as Dalaran ... contributing to the famous Dalaran lag.

Just my two cents

Patch 3.3 PTR: Ghostcrawler explains Paladin changes {WoW}

Oct 28th 2009 10:07AM
Thank you and Thank you ... oh, and thank you!

The only thing I'm upset about is that the lay on hands nerf isn't happening yet either. I just LOVE fighting a pally in PVP and getting him down to 5% just to watch him bubble and heal to full while I scratch myself and take a deep breath ... ok np I saved a few roguely cooldowns ... bring him down to 5% again sweeeeeeeet ... and , "oh SNAP!" he just layed on hands and is back at 100% ... ( i check my cd's and notice i'm now screwed ). Whoops, did I just die? Lovely. lovely. lovely.

BRING ON THE NERF BAT BABY!!!

Patch 3.3: Emblems of Triumph to be the new base emblems {WoW}

Oct 7th 2009 3:51PM Accessibility is one thing, but this goes beyond that.

It reminds me of that scene from 'Meet the Fokers' when Ben Stiller's parents were proudly showing off all his "competitor" ribbons that he won just for showing up to the event.

But whatever ... dumb it down ... sell more games ... make sure the part-time player can own all the same things as the full-time guy just by logging in for an hour once per week.

Bah ... Lyphe
