Breakfast Topic: What's your naming methodology? {WoW}

Jan 9th 2012 12:14PM I tend to make characters that come into my mind. I'll either, daydream up a name, play with word elements, reference a book character, or look up ethnic sounding names.

I have a Death Knight with a name that means "Beloved" because that was her name before she died.

I have tauren with Native American names.

I have a dwarf with a name with metal in it.

I put a lot of thought and love into my character's names.

Breakfast Topic: Are you a WoW cross-dresser? {WoW}

Jan 7th 2012 4:58PM I am a girl and I play BOTH male and female characters. Why? Because I like to. This is a fantasy world where I can be something different! That's fun and exciting and that's why I don't limit myself to one gender. Also why I don't play humans. I'm already a human. Why would I go into a fantasy game and play another?

Drama Mamas: The case of the disreputable doppelganger {WoW}

Jan 3rd 2012 6:01PM I love my characters and I spend a very long time trying to come up with nice names that fit them. Some names I have made up, some I searched ethnic names for, or even slightly borrowed from books.

Two names in particular I came up with after playing with word and sound combinations in my head. I was very proud of those names. No source material was used in ANY way. I figured that because of this, they would be that one snowflake (or two I suppose) in the sea of names. Imagine my surprise when I found out that several people ALSO apparently like to play with word and sound combinations and those two names I worked so hard on were not unique. I just shrugged and went on to enjoy those characters I had worked so hard to name.

What IS funny is that my husband's main's name has never been used by anyone but him. But then again, maybe I should recheck the armory!
