Jan 30th 2012 3:02PM The 10 man raids are having the same problems as the 25 man raids in keeping people etc.
If you are measuring your fun level by how much loot you get, you are doing it wrong. The real fun comes from sitting down for a few hours 2 or 3 nights a week and have a good time w/ a group of friends.
Jan 19th 2012 1:02AM I think the thing most people are missing is that the fights were already getting nerfed by people gearing past them. If the avg gear level of your group is 390 you're going to have an easier time than a group w/ an average level 380.
Perhaps people would like to see raids have a bebuff so everyone can't gear past it, everyone's gear will be limited to ilvl 390 and have it.
What average ilvl did the 1st group to down Deathwing have? What ilvl did you have when you downed it? Higher? Then the fight was nerfed for you, you should be limited to whatever avg ilvl the 1st group had. Other wise, what the 1st group did has been lessened some how...
Jan 16th 2012 11:24PM "I find myself at the end of this paragraph and noting that you now seem to be a new player, who didn't raid before Cataclysm, never raided progression 25 mans yet seem to have a very strong opinion about which you believe is the harder format. Bias much?"

I rerolled realms in the middle of Icecrown, I just did the 1st wing of ICC(Few guild mates switched mains over and I had less time to play at the time so I leveled a few alts). Aside from missing out on ICC, I've raided from the end of BC up until today. Both 10 and 25 man. The changes to the lock out system compelled us to go 10 man.
My current position is 6 of 8 in DS, due to the xmas break and all that, little slow getting back in the grove of things now. The guild I am in is sort of a sister guild to a 25 man raiding guild, they're working on heroic fights now and have lost 6 players during a heroic Morchok kill.
Not every boss is the same of course, just as not everyone's raiding experience is the same. Overall on 10 man normal raids, if you lose a player or 2 your odds of wiping go up by a lot compared to 25 man normal raiding.
It should be pointed out that Blizzard has said the same thing when asked about a 10 man version of LFR, 25 man raiding is more forgiving of players compared to 10 man.
Jan 16th 2012 6:41PM Warmaster Blackhorn 10 has a 18.8 % success rate vs 25 of 49.5 %. While Madness of Deathwing 10 man has a 11.8% success rate vs a 25 rate of 26.4%. Those 4 numbers tell you everything you need to know about 10 vs 25 man raiding. Every other fight in DS is nearly even between 10/25.
2 fights were it is critical in 10 man that everyone does their duty and stays alive.
Also of the Top 20 progressed guilds 6 are 10 man guilds.

Jan 16th 2012 2:07PM "I think reducing the valor points earned in the larger raids was a mistake, and I'd like to see that decision reversed in tier 14."
Wrong, wrong, wrong, wrong wrong.
Because 25 man raiding used to award higher item levels the stigma is that it is harder or better, the reality today is that 10 man raiding is more difficult than 25 man. 25 man is easy mode, if anything it should award less VP.
10 man raiding is a lot harder because every player is accountable. You can't afford to lose a single player, no players who have a role can mess that role up or the raid is going to be a wipe. if even one player stands where they shouldn't, misses a button click, misses an interrupt, disconnects, etc you will wipe. Just one mistake by one player in a 10 min fight and you wipe.

For a smart man that should be all that is needed to figure out who I am.
Jul 6th 2010 2:17PM People are up in arms over this one, most people seem to think that they are safe and/or anonymous behind their chosen internet handle. However this is not the case. As a TF2 server Admin I have seen many trolls get blown away when their personal info is posted in response to their trolling posts. Just by Googling the Handle some people use, you can start to gather pieces of personal information, email, phone numbers, real names, places, jobs, etc can be found in a matter of minutes, one piece of information leading to another, which leads to another, and so on until you have a complete picture of someone.
You are not now nor have you ever been anonymous on the internet. With this change, adults will be expected to act as adults. If you don't want the public to know what you are up to, don't post it on the public internet, it seems rather simple to me.
Mar 26th 2010 12:41PM What it does do is when using LFG, if you enter an Instance already in progress it teleports you to the dungeon guide. I was in Dire Maul East both before and after the restarts this morning, it wasn't teleporting people before the restart but it sure was after.
Mar 1st 2010 2:47PM You have players bouncing around like pinballs, faction change and realm transfers are only adding to the problem. A lot of guilds are losing people because they think the grass is greener some where else.
As such, Torn has a minor problem compared to other guilds, the simple fix here is to figure out who will raid without the normal raid leader and build from there.
Nov 16th 2009 2:44PM Yes, but, I mean after the patch will it still proc?
