Totem Talk: Hit rating, expertise, and enhancement in Mists of Pandaria {WoW}

Mar 17th 2012 7:34PM Hunters will be using expertise in MoP if I recall correctly, so they may have taken the expertise buff off Unleashed Rage because there will be more expertise mail gear.

Breakfast Topic: What's your WoW grudge? {WoW}

Mar 15th 2012 8:16AM I have a grudge against most of Dragon Soul. Our 10 man core group is 6/8H and have been clearing nearly every week since 4.3 hit. About half the group (sometimes up to 7) uses Vanquisher tokens. Guess how many Protector and Conquerer tokens, including heroic ones, we've thrown away?

We go for weeks without seeing Vanquisher at all sometimes. It's really frustrating when half the group is still under item level 397 and we have priests and shamans at 402. And Zon'ozz won't drop the damn cloth belt. Bastardo.

Jan 31st 2012 10:19PM Sorry, if you're still using IE I don't have much sympathy for you.

Jan 31st 2012 10:18PM Crucial sells very reliable RAM, I just bought 8GB for my 15" mid 2010 Macbook Pro for $45. Repeat, NEVER buy RAM from Apple.

Jan 31st 2012 1:11PM It'll probably be great for everyone that uses a 64 bit OS, actually

Breakfast Topic: Has the Raid Finder changed the way you raid? {WoW}

Jan 18th 2012 1:46PM Well, I'm certainly learning new and interesting ways to wipe on bosses.

What's the difference between a 32- and 64-bit client? {WoW}

Jan 11th 2012 1:18PM If you multitask while playing WoW, you may be better off with the 32-bit version. WoW in a 64-bit environment will actively try to use more than 2GB of RAM, meaning your other processes won't have as much available to use. For example, on my Mac I currently have 4GB of RAM, and when WoW is running it uses its 2GB. There's another GB as wired memory, meaning it can't leave RAM, which leaves 1GB for all my other processes. Normally this isn't a problem as I only have iTunes actively running in the background, but if I start trying to run Ventrilo, Safari, Mail, etc it can get strained. If I were running 64-bit WoW that 1GB would shrink quite a bit, probably to near zero.

Luckily for myself I just ordered another 4GB of RAM so I'll be switching to 64-bit the moment it's released (even if there's no Mac version, as I have an Ubuntu partition).
