Feb 3rd 2011 10:49PM Best thing about Everquest- Alternative advancement (AA). You continued to accrue experience at the top level and could use that experiece to buy talent points. I had a palladin with 265 talent points.....things like instant kills or huge damage on undead, extra hit points, take less damage from magic, full heals (if i was tanking) from my hits etc. Absolutely brilliant idea and should be implemented in wow. Yes it made PvP unfair- you could be taking on someone at the top level but with 0 AA points. What this made you do was play your top character more and more and really kept you interested in the game.
Jan 26th 2011 1:43AM I have to disagree with your piece on rated BGs. On my server (Hellscream EU) they are non existant. It hasnt worked at all. You will be lucky to see anyone looking for more for a rated BG. The main reason I think is the difficulty of holding together 10-15 people for any length of time who are not guildies. Ive been in rated BG groups that have fallen apart before we even start because of folks going AFK and just not being able to get enough people interested.
Maybe this will change over time as people become used to them- but at the moment its a real disappointment to me. Its a major feature in cata that people seem to be ignoring.
Jan 5th 2011 1:37AM I play on Hellscream and there is virtually no-one playing rated BGs. When you do get in one the queues are huge. Just isnt working at the moment- theres no appetite on my server for rated BGS
May 18th 2009 3:31AM Any chance at all we can get an interview from a non rogue, pally or DK?
We know that DKs are OP in arena- give us something unusual.
How about 2200+ rated warrior or lock? Are there any?
I agree with other posters..I dont want to hear about DKs. For me they were the biggest mistake Blizz ever did.
Apr 15th 2009 6:40AM Thank god its not until 15:00...i've so much University work to do in the mean time!
Mar 26th 2009 7:15AM Huge burst damage killed arenas.
No fun playing an arena for less than 10 seconds.
Blizz simply got the classes so wrong at the start of WotLK.
They were told during PTR phase that ret pallies were doing too much dmg, holy pallies were unkillable, arcane tree for mages was OP and that DKs had too much survivability. They went ahead and did it anyway.
I've been playing WoW for 4 years and the classes have never been in a worse state. When you see 6 DKs at the top of a damage list in a WSG there is something badly wrong.
3.1 better make some radical adjustments or as far as I'm concerned its all over.
Feb 11th 2009 10:13PM No gloating I promise.
I remember when your column announced when all this new stuff came in- I couldnt believe how OP this was going to make arcane mages.
And as for 5 mins...how about 4 months at least??
This was a plain old cock-up from the start- very like ret Pallies.
Every one testing this said it was far to0 powerful but blizz implemented it anyway. Roll on 3.1 and lock buffs!
Feb 5th 2009 1:44AM YES!
Buff rogues....theyre really struggling.
Jan 11th 2009 8:27AM I levelled up my warlock from 0-60 without ever grouping with anyone, without being in a guild or without ever doing any dungeons or raids.
Then I got heavily involved in PVP and one day whilst in AV I was asked to summon lots of hordes into the allies base.
The only problem was I didnt know how to.....I'd never summoned anyone before-you can imagine the raid chat when I asked how I did this..
Jan 9th 2009 2:54AM In the current climate of matches lasting less than 15 seconds how about matches having to last 2 minutes or more?
As a lock I'd love the match to last longer than 15 seconds!
