Server issues tonight, SoR likely the culprit {WoW}

Mar 7th 2012 1:46AM Apparently SoR is rather popular. I didn't think it was that compelling.

Mar 2nd 2012 8:18PM QftQ: When armor is damaged due to death, how is it decided which piece gets what amount of damage? Is it just a random dice roll on each piece?

Transmogrifying an homage to Bolvar Fordragon {WoW}

Feb 16th 2012 6:02PM It should be noted that the Truesilver Breastplate and Truesilver Gauntlets are no longer trainable for Blacksmiths. Therefore you will need to find a Blacksmith who already had these recipies prior to their removal (which was 4.0.6 I believe)

Officers' Quarters: The plight of 25-man raiding guilds {WoW}

Jan 30th 2012 1:42PM I dont mind 25s having a seperate achievement with perhaps a different coloured mount or something aesthetic as a reward.

However they should not have more loot because then it would go back to making people feel like they HAVE to raid 25s in order to gear up the best way.

The sad fact is that now people have a choice about how they raid and its clear that most people do prefer to raid in 10s for various reasons. For me I raid in 10s because I prefer the closer knit raiding team along with feeling that my personal contribution is more valuable and less diluted.

It is a tricky question though: How do you make 25 man raiding attractive without making it feel like its mandatory for those wanting to gear up etc.

Dragon Soul normal and heroic nerf begins Jan. 31 {WoW}

Jan 18th 2012 11:03PM The purpose of LFR is to allow those who aren't in a position to do traditional raiding to still see content. Its tuned at an easier level to compensate for the fact that a random group of 25 people doesn't work as well together as a guild group.

However for those guilds doing 10s or 25s and are stuck this nerf will allow them to continue progressing through the content.

Everyone thinks LFR was designed as an easy way to get loot or see content but this was never the case. It was designed to help those who can't raid as part of a guild.

Breakfast Topic: What was your favorite WoW moment of 2011? {WoW}

Dec 31st 2011 8:08AM The day 4.3 came out and I could actually see end game content inbetween my shift work. Raid Finder FTW

Official Raid Finder Q&A {WoW}

Nov 29th 2011 11:42PM Is there a hotkey for accessing the raid finder as I normally hide my menu frame

The return of raid stacking? {WoW}

Nov 29th 2011 9:54PM I agree that skill is the deciding factor in most raid make-ups so raid stacking may not happen immediately. But what will happen is that as guilds lose raiders due to RL commits or loss of interest etc etc the guild will recruit specifically for a particular class/spec and simply keep trialing those who apply until they find someone of the skill level they require.

So even though there may be a Mage who has 50% more skill than the warlock they recruit, because they know that a warlock is the "best" way to run the raid that will be the only thing they try to recruit.

Patch 4.3 PTR: Valor and conquest point changes {WoW}

Nov 17th 2011 5:15PM The reason the raid finder I believe is using 25 man raids instead of 10 is to help the queues for it.

In a 10 man you will normally have two tanks, three healers and five DPS. Therefore only 50% of the raid is DPS (60% max if you run two healers)

In a 25 man raid using two tanks, five healers and 18 DPS you raise that to 70% allowing more DPS into the raid without requiring proportionally more tanks or healers.
