Jun 20th 2011 9:54PM When are we suppose to ask what the guilds going to do for me?
It seems like a bad idea to fill out an application for a guild only to get in and have no one who wants to let you do any thing but heal ever. The idea of filling out an application to join a guild who is going to want me to spend what amounts to a part time job doing what they want seems akin to me asking for some one to wash their cars, mow the lawn, get their grocery and be a general grunt for them with out getting a pay check.
If anything the guild should be asking what they can do for the priest to get a good priest who will heal for them and help make their raiding possible. If i am going to be applying for a spot in a guild like i would a job, i should be looking for the job/guild that has what i need first, and the guild/job second.
Nov 26th 2010 8:30PM One of the main Ideas for adding short cast is to function as an instant cast, that can not be cast while moving. If this spell out stripes all of your other choices you could probly do more damage while moving than standing still. They did a smiler thing with the priest racial spell chastise when it was limited to just Dreani. Its a most likely a pvp balance to allow you to set them on commend in pve with making them over powered in pvp.
Aug 29th 2010 5:01AM I acctuly got to use frostfire for a normal lk fight. The spec as imp blizzird wich is relly nice for p2 valks. The spec itself also incresses blizzird aoe damange again for p2 vlaks. IT also gives you imp blizzird for p3 vile spirts, but gives you living bomb which is great for p3 spirts.
The spec doesn't top the dps charts but it fits tailor made for playing the utility aspct of the lk fight.
May 6th 2010 7:25PM As a mage who has done both rotface as fire and arcane, im acctuly not suprised by the switch in the arcane fire when you start looking at the top dps players.
Rotfaces encounter as about as optimized for a fire mage as you can get, enough movement to take addvantage of the hot streak procs on moves as well as low build time once you started the rotation, as well as one of the games most powerful dots. On one hand its less difficult to show good numbers as fire when, on the other a highly skilled arcane mage can make mince meat of the encounter in ways you can't as fire.
Skilled arcane mages can probly mange the entire encounter after the intial run in with blink, alowing them to never have to clip the arcane rotaion. Top guilds probly have the ozze explosion down to knowing almost exactly when it will go off each time. Again removing any cliping from the rotation.
The other major thing to note is that at this point the rot face encounter is much shorter at that overall lvl of dps, my guild which has the encount at about 4-5 mins. Which means two cd rounds for fire, and two and a half to three for arcane.
At the lvl of dps the encounter probly last at about 3 mins. Which means optimal time for arcanes major cds, apearing twice as opposed to fires once. Considering that at max buffs mages with full cds can preform up to twice thire dps with a bit of luck, the last punch of damage would most likly see the arcane mage climb at the end of the fight.
Apr 15th 2010 5:54PM While i wouldn't pay 25 bones for the mount, id totaly pay 24...Im sadly such a fan boy for awsomeness.
Apr 10th 2010 8:01AM The real reason I see for removing flame ward and frost ward is the interplay between them and IA. It goes something like this.
As I stand next to this burning fire on a stone floor, I ask myself, do I risk life and limb to stand in this deceptively deadly fire with my ward spells to empower myself to untold states of awesomeness, or do I remain respectively afraid of all things that appear on the ground next to me?
A lot of these changes highlight a stage of returned dominance to all functions of combat. Lets faces it none of us mages are Jaina proodmore. We cant mass summon water elementals or volley are spells as we please. These changes seem more like, we had a need for them as front line fighters and started making spells up as we go. I mean honestly we can generate ice shards the size of people and call them from the heavens but we can't make a little mist with an magical trap included inside.
We really don't know how many of are base spells are getting reworked, and I doubt we will have just three new spells, maybe three baseline, but I'm suspecting more talents will fundamentally alter the spells we have, scorch I'm looking at you. We may see Arcane missiles regain mana once you dig deep into the tree, we may see are evocate/gems reworked, or when talented to fundamentally alter how they effect us. Hell evocation may restore a small amount of mana than massively boost re gen so we can maintain high damage at the top of are mana bars. I do think we will see fire ball, frost bolt, arcane blast being are basic work horse, working are procs, stacks and execute like moves in when we need it to actually show awesome numbers
It also appears that we may become the ultimate goto for mass destruction guy. With lower substained damage, but when the raid leader say twenty seconds to enrage, light him up. Blowing all cds, with hero/time warp, plus what ever new destructive cooldowns we may receive . I certainly wouldn't mind hovering near the mid range dps, and than systematically climb my way to the top spot in a single short burst of mass vindictive obliteration.
Mar 9th 2010 9:22PM As far as i understand, the bounses for specing into talants don't activate untill you place enough points into them. So your sub spec will most likly olny be granting you the first bounse, which can easly be something valuable to all three specs, say crit or haste. The idea behind Mastray is not to force you to spec into one school, but to remove the need for the reltivly boaring pasive talants you find in all your trees. Ultimintly we will most likly see the top tires of are talant trees be reltivly usefull to all specs and facetas of are caracters with the deep talants foucsing more on the finer details of a given roll/spec.
Feb 22nd 2010 9:47PM There is an instance in which i have used mana shild and have it acctuly help me. On festergut i made a noob mistake on the spore count and missed the last spore by accident, my ice block on cd to save the damage from the first pugent blight. With no hope of reciving a shild from a priest due to the tank healing our disc priest was doing, i poped mana shild and prayed.
I survied with less than a precent of health left.
Also i love the picture at the end of the artical.
