It may be a problem for everyone with a cast bar, but most toons with cast bars get to 'stand still' 30 yards away... ...or wear plate.
Regardless, I play a rogue because it's a blast. The nerf wheel turns and we all get our chance to get elevated and then get ground under. All part of the game I figure, but through it all rogues are still one of the funnest (is funnest a word?) toons to play.
