Feb 25th 2012 12:19PM Absolutely, the first four bosses are easily solo tanked on normal. Our alt group does them as one tank (with bad enough dps that we just killed Spine) and two healers. Hmm... we better kill Madness tonight to try alt heroic progression or we will need to come up with a third string raid due to lack of alt content.
Feb 11th 2012 1:14PM It would be really awesome if they totally consolidated. Some achievements really just don't work for my main (healer) - try "return flags in pvp" or "get killing blows in pvp", etc.
Feb 10th 2012 1:21PM An addon removed me from pvp, with a complete lack of random battleground peels, "Healers must die" has made pvp as a healer no fun at all. Think about that the next time your side in a bg has zero healers.
Oct 10th 2011 9:38PM As a holy priest: there is exactly 1/3rd of a spirit cloth drop in Firelands (2 of 6 possible random enchant heads from Lord R). Nothing says exciting like "there is one third of a loot drop for me in the entire zone for cloth". Yes, I know that I can roll on the weapons, jewelry, and trinkets. If spirit cloth can't drop, why the heck are they dropping intellect plate all over the place?
Jan 27th 2011 7:13PM I leveled my priest as a healing spec as a part of a warlock/priest duo - to 70 and then to 80. I got a dual spec shadow when it became available. While I heal well, that much leveling in a healing spec has left me with the solid belief that whatever mob it is... I probably won't be able to kill it in any reasonable timeframe and the best solution is to run away.
I had a built in tank (voidwalker) and dps (warlock) who were in charge of making things die. I was in charge of making them live and a smite or two if the situation warranted it. I still favor group play over solo. In fact, I only do Tol Barad dailies when I can go as "healer escorting 4 guildmates through the respawn rate on crack mini-dungeons". I consider "fun solo play" to be fishing and archeology.
Jan 20th 2011 5:40PM I was looking at the healing makeup up of 3 pallies, 2 priests... and I would venture a guess that was 2 holy priests. It makes you feel sorry for the resto shammies/druids everywhere. They didn't even bring a mana tide bot.
Jan 20th 2011 12:15PM So, pvp problem without an obvious pvp solution. Mt. Hyjal is extensively phased, which makes for a fun progressing storyline. However, one partially phased 85 horde character with gear can completely shutdown questing for the alliance questing in the zone. The zone is very linear - no skipping ahead. The 85 horde is phased to anyone who quested through the zone - no "get the main out and fix the problem". The normal pvp solution of "get your main or get higher level guildmates" to explain in small words to the horde that "really, camping lowbies is not enjoyed by said lowbies and doesn't make you a bigger person" (repeated killing them and chasing them away) is not an option.
Questing through Hellfire can be annoying but at least Honor Hold can be cleared of horde (don't get me started on how unfair it is that the flying HH guards ignore horde but the Thrallmar ones bomb Alliance characters).
The phasing in Mt. Hyjal seems like a automatic "if you want to grief the opposing faction, you get a free pass to do so". The options for the alt who wants to level are "dungeon (if your gear is good enough for LFD, anyone who was just for professions in Wrath doesn't make the cut until may quest rewards), Vashir (boo for underwater), gathering in a higher level zone where you aren't going to be ganked... just flattened by the mobs, or log and wait for the griefer to get tired (questing only at times that no one is griefing). If this present to griefers isn't intended, is there any other way? Our guild "kill on site" list is getting heavily populated by these jerks who apparently haven't got anything to do for end game other than gank. We are hoping to see them in a place where they aren't protected by phasing where we will have our vengence.
Nov 19th 2010 5:10PM As far as gearing for sufficent regen goes, I was very disappointed to see the level 85 tailoring epics - four epics - only one has spirit. Holy priests being capable of guzzling mana like complete addicts (and being in a raid with a large number of dps clothies) causes me to be loathe to pick up gear without spirit. Is this a "Blizzard hates healers and refuses to let them have more than one crafted piece of starting gear" or is non-spirit gear okay in a mana matters world? I can't wrap my head around the idea of deliberately picking up a non-spirit piece of gear at the beginning of the end game of an expansion especially with a supposedly higher emphasis on making mana matter.
Nov 17th 2010 5:46PM Any thoughts on leveling specs? For soloing or as part of a duo (with a warlock)... how about with thought to self defense for leveling on a pvp server?
