Apr 3rd 2012 1:02PM For me, its not so much that I dislike PvP as a game concept or mechanic, its more that I dislike the attitude associated with so many PvPers. PvP (especially world PvP) seems to be more like bullying then anything else. Ganking, Camping, etc. The entire method of your enjoyment is to make another person miserable. That to me is bullying.
In BG's and Arenas the concept is a bit different, people actively choose to participate in those. For me, I dont enjoy all the /spitting, /laughing, the tea bagging, the constant put downs in chat from my own side about how everyone in the BG sucks but them. Now you can argue that the same can go for every PvE pug out there (and some of that is true), but I see so much more of it in PvP that it creates an unpleasant and intolerable environment.
PvP for many (though not all) just seems to me, like a license to be a jerk. I can understand the thrill of the hunt, the butterflies you get in your stomach knowing you can be attacked at any moment, the diversity among the action that not every fight will be the same that can appeal to those out there that dont like the repetition of PvE fights. I understand all of that. However just because you have the ability to be able to kill another players character doesnt give you the right to be a jerk about it. Its that attitude that probably the small vocal few that do, do these things that has completely turned me off to PvP in this game and many others.
