May 18th 2009 8:41AM It can be difficult when you're starting raiding from scratch, especially in Ulduar, which, unlike Naxx, actually tests player skills to some extent.
Not sure what to say really, gear is only a small part of the equation, learning how to play your class successfully in raids is the major part.
I'd say that you're best bet would be firstly, learn what you can from discussion sites so that you have a good grounding in what to ask. Then find someone in your current guild who might be willing to mentor you, "show you the ropes".
If you cant find that, then it might be worth considering moving guilds.
Apr 29th 2009 3:51AM Yeah, it's always the tanks and healers who do the hard jobs ;)
(Yes, I am biased)
And, just to clarify, yes dps are important, but really - tanking will always be the highest skill requirement, and healing generally requires the most effort.
Apr 27th 2009 8:53AM At the end of the day, if you're dropped from a raid because your dps is slightly lower, and they cant see the fact that you're more aware than the other player, then more fool them.
If however, you're dps is a large amount lower, then perhaps you should consider using a mod, or working out how to improve your dps?
If you just use pure numbers to make the decision then you wont have the best players. How many times I have seen 'the best dps' fail to get out of a killer damage effect because they aren't paying attention to anything except their dps?
Apr 21st 2009 8:18AM Does the new wintergrasp no longer cause lag in raids? That would be a really good change.
Apr 21st 2009 8:15AM Not requiring no, but we had a little reward scheme in-place for Sartharion 3 drakes. The guild bank had loads of cash so we said that if we get Sarth 3D down before the patch, all raiders would get 1000g each. (And dual spec was mentioned)
So loads of our raiders have dual specced. :)
Personally I would've dual specced anyway, but then I am a pally.
Mar 25th 2009 9:39AM Have to agree, Arena was and is the worst idea blizzard came up with. Like it or not, it causes so many problems throughout the game, it just isn't worth it.
Have to agree with the person who said that people did not join WoW for PvP. That doesn't mean that PvP should be removed, it just shouldn't be the axle around which the whole of WoW now rotates.
Mar 16th 2009 9:32AM Lets not worry too much about the details of this, as long as this goes in the patch, they can fix any problems later. :)
Mar 16th 2009 9:23AM I certainly agree, being an officer is a difficult task and not made easier by the attitudes of some players...
Mar 12th 2009 9:41AM This is the sort of stupid sh*t you get when you allow patenting of software concepts.
People wander in, patent something they have had a passing acquaitance with, and then sue everybody in sight in an effort to make money.
I believe they were told this would happen before this system was introduced.
Mar 11th 2009 5:06AM I agree with the assessment that the paladin set is not great, but hey, at least we're not a power ranger this time! (I expect tier 9 will be back to power ranger)
I think they should stop letting 9 year olds design the pally gear for odd numbered tiers, and instead get the person back who did tiers 2 & 4.
If it is the same person doing all of these sets he/she must have some sort of split-personality disorder...
