Jun 14th 2009 8:02AM @yokumgang: Even if you ignore the fact that Mutating Injection is a disease--Priests, after all, get Cure Disease and Abolish Disease, so the idea still applies--there are simply NO DISEASES TO CURE that would ever even need curing outside mutating injection on Grobb. If anyone goes near their specialized disease-cleansing spells that fight, they're morons. :\
Jun 13th 2009 5:13PM I've heard Magic Runes or Runes of Magic or... whatever... is very interesting for a free game.
Regardless, I definitely sympathize with the wanderlust that makes people want to try other games. About a month or two ago I trialed three different MMOs, just to try something new. The most interesting among the ones I tried was LotRO, but I still wouldn't pay for it. :s It was a refreshing break from WoW for a while, for those days when you log in because you have nothing better to do in real life only to discover that you don't have anything to do in Azeroth, either. :)
Jun 13th 2009 5:06PM The flying carpet is a flying mount. Why would it not be included in a sweeping change to all flying mounts?
Jun 13th 2009 5:04PM Bear with me here, you're the one who used the reformat analogy, so you're going to get a computer nerd analogy. :P
Imagine Windows 7 releasing with a virus on the disk. A virus so entwined in the registry and system files that it can't be cleaned. People on out gracious intarwebz would find ways to control the virus, but if those barriers failed and the virus got loose in your files, you'd have to reformat and reinstall windows.
You'd still be installing windows with the nasty virus, but at least you'd be able to put your safeguards back on to prevent them wreaking havoc for a while.
THAT is what the Titans are threatening to do. Algalon's distress signal is, amazingly enough, not because Yogg-Saron got loose, but because Loken--one of the primary defenses against the insidious virus--was killed. They'd have to start over with the Old Gods intact, the "reformat" wouldn't get rid of them by any means. But they'd be able to reinstate their safeguards: the keepers, the aspects, the demigods, all as they were at Azeroth's birth.
Jun 12th 2009 11:18PM Alternatively, you could get raiders you can trust. I've never had a use for this. :s
Jun 12th 2009 2:59PM Faction discounts didn't disappear. I think you may have misread. :) The change was that faction discounts now ALWAYS apply (they didn't used to apply for flying mounts).
Jun 12th 2009 2:58PM Crap! I forgot aura mastery! XD
Make that 627% :P
Jun 12th 2009 2:53PM @Brasco: Don't be snarky. ;) It's a theoretical highest, not a realistic one. Besides, the level cap did used to be 70, you know. :) There were lots of 70s with 310% mounts, long ago in a galaxy far, far away.
Jun 12th 2009 2:20PM An interesting solution. They could toss a function to mod movement speed in the function that checks what sound of footprints you're supposed to be making...
Jun 12th 2009 2:16PM It's multiplicative with such talents, and yes, 100% + 20% is more than 120% in this case.
Because a 100% speed in crease is just that--a 100% speed INCREASE. You are moving at 200% of normal speed, or twice as quickly. The 20% is then MULTIPLIED by that 200%. You wind up going at 240% of walking speed. :)
For the curious, the fastest speed possible right now is:
Super-epic mount: 410% walking speed
Crusader Aura/On a Pale Horse: x1.2
Carrot on a stick (level 70): x1.03
Riding skill enchant (level 70): x1.02
Mithril spurs (level 70): x1.04
For a speed boost of 537% faster than walking speed. :P
