Feb 19th 2010 11:30AM Great write-up, Matt. I disagree only with one point you made. Our 10 and 25 man groups have had Professor on farm for weeks. Before our first kill, we kept dying in phase 3. Until...we decided to put the healers in front of Professor, not behind him with the DPS. That way we have the least possible chance of getting targetted and/or hit by Malleable Goo. With us in front, we sail through Phase 3 as if it were the easiest phase of the fight.
Of course, whatever works for one's group is what works. I just wanted to put out there that it's not absolutely necessary to stay out of the tank's path. In fact, for us, that's the recipe for success.
Jan 14th 2010 2:15PM Not to be contrary, but I'm confused. I use Grid and Clique and, because of how they work, I never have to target any allies. Instead, I keep the main mob targetted throughout the entire fight.
With Grid and Clique, why would you ever have to keep your tank as your target? You just click on his square in Grid when he needs a heal. Or am I missing something here?

Dec 30th 2008 10:28AM I went through this myself when I reached 80. Being a Holy Priest, I was in high demand for PUG instance running so I leveled much more quickly than the rest of my guild members. (In fact, there are only 2 other 80s in the guild at this point.)
I have been to successful OS and Naxx PUGs and have done numerous heroics. I'm geared to the teeth with all of the heroic and 10-man epics while the rest of my guildmates are still leveling.
Would I switch guilds to go into 25-mans? Not on your life. I love my guildmates and look forward to playing with them for a long time. If I were in a hurry to see all the content so I could move on to another game, I might consider switching guilds to achieve that goal much more quickly. But, I have no interest in doing that.

Dec 9th 2008 9:39AM I'm a holy priest and I leveled all the way to 80 without respeccing. I got to 80 quickly because of the constant need for healers in instances. Anyone who says healing as holy is slow doesn't know how to do it right.
I'm avoiding PuGs with DKs like the plague (pun intended). My experience so far has been that the DKs on my server just spam their abilities without any regard to threat. This makes it impossible to efficiently heal a group. There's speculation that a large portion of DKs are players who haven't played a tank before. But, even if their lvl 70 toon is a dps or healer, shouldn't they know threat mechanics by now???
