May 6th 2011 5:48PM don't forget the lovely 4.1 bug where conc was not working on elevators first week. our paladin would drop a conc for the 12 adds rezing and they'd say "screw this" and run the other way. 10 man it's a little easier to get away with a shield on rez and some hammers but with 12 mods the whole pop plea inq then conc as they rez is just OP for pickup, and it not working made for a crappy raid week. Fortunately hotfixed now.
May 3rd 2011 4:10PM "Swimming has been tweaked. To dive, you have to tilt your direction downwards a certain amount with the right mouse button."
wow wish they'd put that back in. now adays, to NOT dive, you have to tilt camera upward towards sky when you enter water. :\
Apr 26th 2011 5:16PM these mods are not causing issues unless they are OUT OF DATE. 4.1 made a MAJOR change to combat log, so these mods are generating hundreds upon hundreds of errors if they are not up to date. recount for example doesn't have a release out yet to fix it, but it has an ALPHA on wowace that works without fps issues.
Apr 22nd 2011 6:13PM on the Rallying Cry subject, it's worth nothing that it is at huge disadvanrtage a prot warrior use it. It shares CD with last stand, so a prot warrior has to decide on a 20 second 30% health cd, or a 20% cd that only lasts 6 seconds. warriors only have two cds, last stand and shield wall, to sacrifice one of them for raid is practically ludacris and doubtful on some fights prot will be able to afford it when CDs are too precious, such as add kiting on nef, or MTing maloriak. Other fights though the sacrifice is less questionable. Paladins devine guardian is not same by comparison, using it doesn't make you lose one of your self cds, instead, you yourself don't benefit from devine guardian to prevent stacking. while as the warriors benefit from their raid CD..
however, i'd take last stand on it's own CD and not benefiting from cry any day, then using a raid CD wouldn't sacrifice self surviability.
but for now, Rallying Cry is going to be the dps warriors special treat.
Mar 23rd 2011 6:32PM they haven't increased drop rate, it just takes less people to do, and runs are more common then ever. Instead of 8 people or so going in there and rolling against 7, people solo it if they are right class, otherwise 2-3 man it tops if they are smart, allowing for more chances at mount per bodies, those 8 poeple are now 3 groups instead of 1, trippling drop chances for any one person of those 8 to get mount.
Mar 21st 2011 7:28PM Yeah i read that article and based on that decided i'd purposely wait til april, in down time of raid content, to catch both. :(
Mar 10th 2011 3:33PM bounce was fixed in 4.0.6 several got it after patch who had full cleared zone.
Feb 12th 2011 5:08PM "Prot feels absolutely unchanged. How the hotfix to raging blow will shake out is as yet undetermined."
i completely disagree with this.
Cleave damage reduced by 35% with base change plus war acadomy, multi target thread took a hit as cleave was primary filler in between shockwave cds, thunderclap/rend applications never compared to cleave, cleave was just amazing. you can pop endless rage to lower cleave CD, but that really depends on damage in take, and it's only burst, not sustained threat it was before. the burst is higher as 35% nerf, but half the CD is more damage per 3 seconds then it was before, with endless rage up, it's also double the rage so harder to sustain, and not 100% up time. overall i feel this is a notable aoe tanking change.
heroic strike, similar boat to cleave. HS on a boss fight is pretty much always used every 3 seconds. taking it's own 35% damage nerf also hit single target threat, devastate 15% buff doesn't really compensate for this, when you consider HS is off global cd and always used, devastate is only used when all stronger treat abilities like shield slam, revenge, shockwave, conc blow are on CD...Devastate is a filler ability and i have noticed single target threat feeling different in 4.0.6. Again, endless rage will allow 1.5 second heroic strikes, but while we typically had the rage to alwys use it every 3 seconds, we don't quite have it to endless use it every 1.5 to compensate for this damage nerf. sometimes we do, but more often we do not, so i think overall it's a damage/threat loss for prot that wasn't really accounted for when trying to retune the dps specs.
Feb 12th 2011 12:47AM cataclysm actually brought 7 new factions, just at launch, the increase of 10 though and not 7 is sensible considering there will be without a doubt new factions in 4.1 4.2 and 4.3 etc continuing to trivialize 40, which honestly is trivial. just as wrath added new ones or unlocked existing ones like silver covenant. who knows we could have "ragnaros offensive" factionin 4.1 or something, companying the new hyjal dailies and raid coming in that patch.
I earned it when 40 took actual work. but now having 54 exalted factions, the idea of others still earning it with 40 annoys me, yes poeple who previous earned it should keep it if they earned it PRIOR to cata. But i think anyone that earned it in cata doesnt deserve it unless they have 50. That's how i feel about it. Blizz clearly demonstrated they feel same way, they didn't want players earning it at 40 anymore, but mechnically couldn't reserve the title to those who earned it pre cata do to the lack of technologies to do that. But i still think they should have stuck to their guns, cause if anyone earned exalted when 40 was actually hard, i'm quite certain they already have 50 now. 5 people in my guild got exalted title and 50 exalted spam when they logged in patch day, and it was the people who i know for sure all earned exalted in wrath. not one person lost exalted who got it in wrath. Only people who happened to get it using the 7 cata reps. I honestly bet 90% of the complainers were those people.
Feb 10th 2011 2:09PM and just an FYI, i farmed black temple rep soloing trash mobs at level 80, surely a level 85 can do it.
