Apr 14th 2009 10:10AM I don't see the problem. Whether you are "casual" or not, most players can save up 1k gold in a relatively short amount of time. Those that are interested in dual speccing have also had this information regarding the 1k cost for weeks.
I expect MOST 80s that aren't pure dps classes to have a 2nd spec within the week - it dramatically increases your chance to find a group if you can tank/heal. EVERY class that can tank and/or heal also has at least one tree dedicated to DPS, which is almost by default the most popular tree. It's a win-win, IMO.
Apr 6th 2009 2:21PM Patchwerk is common to use as a DPS benchmark, but it's important to realize the limitations of this:
1) No movement. While movement may not affect a Warlock very much, it can wreak absolute havoc on some melee classes.
2) Strictly single target. Many classes include AoE moves in their standard rotation - Think Ret paladins....their DPS drops drastically without using Consecrate or Divine Storm. Their DPS skyrockets on fights with multiple targets without any real increase in effort/mana usage.
3) The last issue only affects Ret paladins, afaik. No raid damage....healers focusing strictly on tanks to keep them alive...few heals from SoB recoil...resulting mana issues.
Apr 6th 2009 2:15PM I should know the answer to this, but I don't....
Can Death Knights use Runeforging on BoA Heirloom weapons? I'd love to level my DK with an Arcanite Reaper lookalike, but it may not be worth giving up Runeforging. If not...are there plans to "fix" this so that Runeforge enchants don't transfer along with the item?
