Choose My Adventure: Insert cartridge {Massively}

Mar 7th 2012 3:10PM That Atari 2600 cartridge creator tool is just the gift that keeps on giving. I like the keyboard vs. joystick controller touch there.

The Game Archaeologist discovers the Island of Kesmai {Massively}

Mar 6th 2012 11:39AM I don't remember it being in color... but then I think I only had a monochrome monitor on my Apple II. So I remember a lot of things from that time as being only black and white.

The Perfect Ten: Clever ideas {Massively}

Feb 23rd 2012 5:45PM @Buhallin You will note, if you read my comment, that my gripe was forcing disparate data into a single format that did not work for all the data required. It was perhaps nice for world information, but it made, for example, a crappy, screen blocking quest log.

Lots of information available in game is a good thing. Forcing it into a single format like they did with the ToK is a bad thing.

The Perfect Ten: Clever ideas {Massively}

Feb 23rd 2012 2:19PM The problem with top 10 lists is that you can usually only get to 8 before the bottom of the barrel has been reached. And so we got the Tome of Knowledge on the list, an attempt to force disparate data into a single standard format not appropriate for all it was meant to do.

Some people are going to complain about the Dungeon Finder being on the list, but other games have totally grabbed that idea. But who has copied the ToK? Anybody?

The ToK was proof that Paul Barnett's statement about strong ideas was not a guarantee that they would also be good ideas.

The Daily Grind: Have you ever been a part of a regular group? {Massively}

Feb 22nd 2012 12:16PM Five years and counting with our main Saturday night group.

And I still play regularly with people I played TorilMUD with back in the mid-90s as well.

The Daily Grind: What do you like to see on MMO websites? {Massively}

Feb 1st 2012 11:18AM I want game news on the site and not buried in the forums. And I want an RSS feed that sends the news to my reader application, not just the title or the title and half of the first sentence. (That is you I am glaring at, STO. Go learn from EVE Online.)

The Perfect Ten: Best MMO theme songs (part two) {Massively}

Jan 26th 2012 10:51AM What? You have a slot for an unreleased game, but no room for anything from EVE Online. *pout*

The Daily Grind: Would you use an official wiki in your game of choice? {Massively}

Jan 3rd 2012 12:11PM I already use the EVE Online official Wiki, EVElopedia.

Richard Garriott: 'Exceptionally unusual pressures' helped tank Tabula Rasa {Massively}

Dec 13th 2011 2:10PM Here we have his third interview with EuroGamer in as many days. I would rank this one as the worst, being that it just brought up old wounds and then papered them over with "NCsoft/EA made me do it." I am not sure how this is furthering his Portalarium agenda.

But the real question is, what will tomorrow's interview be about? His time in space, his new wife, his name change, his honorary doctorate?

There are so many ways down from even this interview that I hope he is just done for now.

On the first day of giveaways, Turbine gave to me... [Updated] {Massively}

Dec 13th 2011 10:00AM I would give it to Potshot since I already have a lifetime sub and he is the person I end up playing LOTRO with most of the time.
