Jun 25th 2010 11:22AM You actually CAN make it store button assignments on the server, just not bar layouts. If you set all the buttons to use ActionIDs instead of macros then the client will sync the button contents back to the server. The downside to this is that you're limited to 120 actionids, and you have to be careful about planning how the IDs get used or else you get overlap.
I made a grid that I use for plotting out how I'm going to map the IDs that also shows how they appear on the default bars: http://chipersoft.com/ButtonMap.pdf (or http://chipersoft.com/buttonmap.php if you don't trust PDFs, but it only displays right in Safari or Chrome)
Mar 24th 2010 5:06PM Ok, so what does all this mean for those of us who AREN'T sporting the top ICC gear and aren't capped on our crit and ArP values? My rogue is still gearing up from the new heroics and badge gear. I wouldn't even dream of taking her into ICC yet. What do these changes mean for me?
No offense meant to Chase, but this article is useless to all but the best geared rogues. I come to wow.com because the articles usually cater better to the non-hardcore player base. If I wanted to know what impact the patch changes made for the upper tier, I'd go read ElitestJerks.
Mar 19th 2010 4:53PM Here here! These videos are excellent, I love the way he's editing it all together. The overall presentation knocks the socks off of TankSpots vids.
I look forward to more just like it.
Mar 18th 2010 3:24PM This list is useless without EpicAdvice.com
Mar 3rd 2010 11:35AM Plus, textures are only half of the equation. Player gear models take just as long to load as the textures do. Ultimately having the characters load bits at a time would simply look awful.
When Halo 2 came out one of the features they put into the game to improve level loading times was having all character and scenery models first load with just low-res textures, and then the higher detailed textures were loaded asynchronously while the player went through the level. This did reduce load times to almost nothing, but the result was that every time you entered a level there would be a moment where everything would look like shit.
Players hated it!
When the Xbox 360 came out the system was fast enough that the loading was almost instant, but one of the largest complaints for the game during the original XBox livespan was that buffered texture loading.
Feb 26th 2010 11:51AM Has this bug been fixed? I have GOT to try this!
Feb 24th 2010 12:05PM That video was brilliant, I lol'd hard when he got to the warlock in demon form playing Mal'Ganus. The timing was dead on with each player's lines, although they actually performed it faster then the real event :/
Feb 19th 2010 3:34PM You got that backwards. We're defending the ruby dragonflight from the black dragonflight
Feb 19th 2010 3:33PM My immediate reaction from reading the description was that this would be a mount hyjal type fight. We're defending against each boss as they bear down on the sanctum.
Feb 18th 2010 11:31AM @Ellanora: All the event mounts are feats of strength. Brewfest Ram, Brewfest Kodo, Headless Horseman's Mount... all of them, yet I've at least seen all three of those drop. The fact that only 17 love rockets dropped in the entire united states is just ridiculous, it's not even a 310% speed mount.
As frustrating as this is, I'm more annoyed at the piss poor drop rate on the blue items, like the pet and the heartbreaker. Following the wowhead comments on the mount, out of over 1400 summons only 9 heartbreakers and 64 pets. That's just mean, to tell us these things are here and then make them close to impossible to get.
