Jun 4th 2011 8:13AM I punch that dragon in the face. P-p-punch!
Apr 1st 2011 9:51AM Like a lot of people here I listen to people and smooth things out when disputes arise. I can deal with people without letting ego/anger cloud my judgement. Unfortunately I'm labelled 'tactics officer' but I rarely know what's going on!
Nov 3rd 2010 8:58AM This isn't much of an invasion yet. Elementals spawning for 10 minutes then disappearing for 50 isn't threatening at all. Bring on the capital city assaults, although even those are reported to happen only once every 2 hours...
Feb 5th 2010 9:26AM But then you have to remember that we (the proud peoples of Planet Moonkin) are not primarily brought to raids because of our personal DPS, but because we bring a great aura and +haste buff to the raid. Moreso than any other spec, apart from perhaps a Shadow Priest, I find we are the 'spec to help others' rather than the spec to destroy the world with space lasers.
As long as our DPS is competitive I don't see it as a major issue for me personally. I may not be topping charts but I'm one of few classes that can resurrect midfight, keep a healer from going oom, add 3% +hit to the a boss, improve everyone's crit rating and spell haste. It's very easy to lose time on Eclipse during movement, but we have strong DoTs to assist us a little on the move and those shall have to do.
Jan 1st 2010 7:04AM Not sure if anyone's mentioned this yet but the purpose of Coilfang Resevoir is to eventually make a new Well of Eternity for Illidan's forces to use. Vashj and Kael'thas both have drops from the original.
Nov 5th 2009 5:11PM Listening is hard, but reading is craaazzyyy.
If Arthas is the only thing preventing the Scourge running amok like mad, godlike apes, why was this not a problem before Arthas merged with the Lich King?
And if that small amount of innocence gets snuffed out, why can't we just kill the Lich King off? I thought the whole point of the Lich King removing Arthas' heart was to get rid of this innocence?
Why the need for a benevolent Lich King? Why does the Scourge magically gain the power to do its job properly when its head is removed? It would have no co-ordination whatsoever without the Lich King.
Nov 4th 2009 7:22PM So we're gonna smash Arthas out of the suit, put someone in and then continually come back to smash them up too?
Hey I have a better idea, how about we kill the Lich King and leave him dead, and then kill the Scourge who will be less effective at governing/raising themselves with their leader dead. Are we supposed to believe that with the Lich King dead every little ghoul is going to grow 500% size and start fusion punching everyone everywhere?
Why not just have the armour vacant, less powerful and diminished but still a threat? Why have this clause at all? Illidan still threatens Outland with doom and he's been killed lots of times. Why the need for this pathetic 'benevolent' Lich King nonsense? It's cringeworthy! I get the need for drama, I know finding a new Lich King is exciting but really? If the Lich King dies the Scourge does its job but CRAZY? Really? Makes you wonder why the Lich King wanted to merge with Arthas in the first place.
Nov 4th 2009 7:00PM This is such utter stupidity in lore terms. There always needs to be a Lich King to hold the Scourge back? Is the mission of the Scourge not to annihilate all life? Why is the Lich King holding them back? Imagine the Lich King giving orders:
'Right, destroy them all!'
'But leave some of them alive.'
'But then move on and destroy them all!'
'But don't destroy too much, and stop there!'
'Then we cross the sea.'
'No we don't.'
'Then raise their corpses.'
'But leave a few to be buried.'
Is this why the Lich King keeps letting us foil his plans and then saunter away mostly unpunished? Ridiculous. Sorry but this is just such a cop out, the Lich King has been ruined.
Apr 5th 2009 8:24AM I'm afraid I disagree. These ideas are sort of crazy, and I'd much prefer to see all new dungeons than revisit old ones under frankly unrealistic premises.
Why would the Twilight's Hammer randomly move into Scholomance? It has no connection to the Old Gods in any sense. Why (and how) would the Bloodsail uncover VanCleef's secret hideout and decide to invade it when they have trouble enough dealing with Booty Bay at the moment, let alone a random incursion into a now well defended Westfall.
You might as well throw a dragon into Ragefire Chasm and say it was there all along. I just think it's a bit of a cop out storywise.
Jan 18th 2009 3:55PM I agree with the article, there are also too many ill-informed individuals out there who complain about the game's lore without actually understanding it.
My only complaint against the game's lore is the polarisation of good V bad. It's too black and white, and the villains are becoming too stereotypical.
Case in point: the Lich King. He's just another shout-y 'power is mine' villain now. As an enemy he was more intimidating as an emotionless figure, seated on a throne, able to cut down hundreds of soldiers without lifting a finger. That form of villain is far, far more poignant than a big warlord, who may as well be an ogre for all he manages to actually achieve in Wrath of the Lich King.
