Sep 14th 2011 1:04PM I have the opposite problem, my friends keep wanting me to do Heroics when I'm not interested.
As a new player I'm pretty much completely uniformed about any sort or mechanics for PvE.
Luckily most of everything seems to be Tank and Spank mixed with a little Don't Stand in That Shit. I can handle that, but then I get yelled at for not kicking something or knowing the dance to a particular boss and I start to regret going in the first place.
I just want to do some light PvP and fish all day. My friends on the other hand love killing those bad guys. :(
Sep 11th 2011 11:52AM Only a few rules;
1) Unless a group member initiates the gank or I am attacked I rarely attack an enemy.
2) If I am trying to start up some world PvP then I attack anyone available. Usually that gets the ball rolling, or I just get camped by some angry Alliance.
3) I refuse to camp, and if it seems the target is involved in a active quest I'll wait until he/she has finished. (Once I watched a target for 10-15 minutes waiting for a rather long event quest in WPL to finish up)
Sep 7th 2011 2:34PM As a new player (I hit 85 yesterday) this article was very helpful. I tend to be a very defensive player, saving cooldowns to the point of non-use. I guess I need to become accustomed to using them and jumping in/out of combat to be successful.
Jun 6th 2011 10:48AM I've spent about 30min trying the free trial of Rift and a few hours leveling in WoW, that would be my total MMO playtime this year. On the otherhand I've most likely spent at least a day of my life reading Massively articles over the same timespan.
A job that is mostly downtime, plus an inability to be captivated by what I have dabbled in, has resulted in the above. I will admit do prioritize games that I actually play over those I do not, but I guess it's still strange that I find interest in a genre that has, for the most part, not been able to grab me.
Aug 20th 2010 8:35AM Worst case was my first time playing WoW.
Was around level 13-15 and doing a Bristleback Boar quest;
I had to farm 3 different common mobs for drops.
Each type dropped a different item.
The first two items dropped almost immediately while it took me literally 2+ hours of grinding to get the last.
In fact I wasn't even the one who got it. I started complaining out loud so much that my friend who was in the room with me, a WoW veteran, took my laptop just so he could show me how easy it was.
He kills one goddamn pig and the item drops.
I later checked the drop-rate on WoWhead, it was 25%.
I probably murdered a good 150-200 of those bastards.
Feb 26th 2009 12:44AM Wait...so is ST not granting the 100% bonus anymore?
Jan 13th 2009 1:08AM Obviously in the next expansion clams will be a much needed commodity. Mages will lose the ability to create water in exchange for being able to make clams. Tables will become clamables and Bacon of Light will become Clam of Light. Druids will then QQ on a massive scale and will be given Clam form.
Dec 19th 2008 8:37PM Yep I keep on getting kicked too...If this is a whole internet thing...could it be the matrix coming to destroy humanity?
Dec 11th 2008 2:12AM The day they allow Maple Story's "buy yourself lvls" system Im gonna laugh. Although that recruit a friend kinda works...
