15 Minutes of Fame: Members only {WoW}

Aug 25th 2009 2:01PM Yeah, I don't think there was anything trollish or ridiculing about shiplore's post. He was just expressing his opinion. It's kind of an asinine opinion that seems to me to combine an 18th-century understanding of journalism with a nine year old's, but no need to legitimize his nonsense with unrelated personal attacks...

15 Minutes of Fame: Members only {WoW}

Aug 25th 2009 1:39PM How did the second post get voted way down while this one spouting essentially the same nonsense got voted up?

I agree that it's very wrong. Reprehensible, even. But there's absolutely nothing wrong with wow.com covering it. Good piece.

BlizzCon 2009: WoW.com interviews Sandeep Parikh {WoW}

Aug 24th 2009 9:00PM I like Parikh and I love Zaboo, but Legend of Neil has been awfully hit and miss for me. I thought the "Money Making Game" episode was awesomely magnificent, but this week's episode just seemed juvenile and unimaginative to me. Especially, sad to say, FD's part...dirty can be funny, but isn't just automatically so.

BlizzCon 2009: WoW.com interviews Felicia Day {WoW}

Aug 24th 2009 4:32PM I vote no on Spoonshark getting a vote.

Felicia Day unleashes geeky pop single {WoW}

Aug 17th 2009 6:15PM Why is it that on the internet, everyone who has a viewpoint that differs from the commenter's is somehow a bad or unworthy person?

I'm aware that there are legions of girl gamer geeks out there, and good for them I guess, whatever. I don't care all that much about that, and I don't care about FD's looks all that much either (awfully cute, especially in those little opening webcam monologues, but frankly not at all my type, if I were inclined to look at things "that way" for some reason).

But: I have a different sense of humor than you do. I think The Guild is brilliantly funny. I really, really like the work Felicia does, both there and elsewhere.

So you disagree. I respect your right to have poor taste. But why the insults?

Felicia Day unleashes geeky pop single {WoW}

Aug 17th 2009 2:53PM (a) Is any pop culture offering anything more than attention whoring?
(b) I think they put a lot more work into it than that. Some of the lyrics are pretty clever.
(c) There's a lot of tongue-in-cheek there, too. I'm sure they knew the effect it would have on most geek guys out there, but it could've been a LOT more risque than it was if that's all they were going for. And I'm thinking Vork's and Zaboo's appareances would probably have been quite a bit more limited...that's like a cold shower right there.

Aug 17th 2009 2:49PM I don't think the fact that there's a funny song using that phrase makes every use of said phrase a witty reference...

Aug 17th 2009 2:46PM I loved this video before it started, because I'm an incredibly huge Guild fan. I'm actually about six months new to WoW...went totally backwards. Found "The Guild" and it made me decide to start playing WoW, with which I'm now obsessed. Has that happened much, or was it just me?

But the video actually surpassed my ridiculous expectations. Don't care about the artistic merit and whatever (though I was impressed with the quality); for what it was/intended to be, that was just pitch perfect. Vork's dancing is pretty much the greatest thing ever.
