Jul 1st 2008 6:36PM Yup, I was a little surprised that Blizzard went with tradition over innovation on this one. But an updated D2 is still an amazing game.
Nov 19th 2007 10:05PM Heh why would people call me that? I like lots of MMOs.
May 30th 2007 9:01PM I like it a lot, plenty of potential.
I don't know what the best forums to ask these questions is (I figured this would be better than just emailing), but here are my earliest thoughts:
1) What happens when the links chosen by your guides break? On the Corvette entry, you've got a great Youtube link to a terrific Top Gear segment. But that's copyrighted, I believe, and could be pulled at any time. Are you monitoring and/or updating the result pages for broken links?
2) The search "metaphor" is genius, but I can see it getting a little hazy on more obscure stuff-- for "Corvette," it easily takes me to "Chevrolet Corvette," but when I search "Corvette Chevrolet," it finds nothing. Don't see it being a problem for the top searches, but like I said, that could hurt results on the long tail stuff.
Otherwise, I like it. Great idea, beautiful design. Can't wait to see it in action.
Mar 15th 2007 7:50PM Ha BaboonNL, someone told me about that, and when I was putting this little tour together, I spent like an hour flying around all the mushrooms in Zangarmarsh, but never found it. What's the loc on that one?
Mar 8th 2007 12:57AM Oh man I do play a shaman, and I have so much to say about this, I can't even get it all organized in my head. I'll just say that yes Shaman are oom even more than oomkin, and it seems that's the way the devs want it. There's all kinds of things they can do (mana tide should be trainable for all shaman, imo, and shaman dps needs a serious boost-- I mean "to compete with mages or balance" druids kind of boost), but they won't because to make the Shaman class more powerful isn't very Shaman-like.
If you can believe it, I'm bragging more than whining when I say this-- Shaman is a class defined by its weakness. We can't heal like priests or druids (our only HoT is the top level resto talent, and we have no shield to speak of), we can't dps like mages (we can't even dps like balance druids), and we can't wear plate or even buff like Paladins. The fact that we still find the time to do everything and use all of our various wacky abilities to make ourselves useful is a tribute to just how powerful Shaman are.
Feb 14th 2007 9:05AM I hate those Darkcasters in Mana Tombs, although I heard they got a little nerf in yesterday's patch.
Jan 18th 2007 3:52PM Yeah, if you need to play it:
Just saved you $600 plus.
Jan 17th 2007 10:31PM Yeah, what server you on, Chris? I'm on Thunderhorn, as I said yesterday, and since we're high pop., things are insane. It's unplayable at peak hours for sure, between the camping and the lag.
But last night I played for a little while offhours, and it was much more manageable. I'm guessing as people move up into their 60s this weekend, things will thin out a little more.
Jan 15th 2007 11:13AM Don't forget, all the WoW info you need, including reports from the BC Launch, is over at wowinsider.com.
Jan 3rd 2007 1:58PM XBLA Katamari would be amazing (and would let me finally sell off my PS2, as this is really the only game I'm keeping it around for). But didn't Keita Takahashi, the temperamental creator of the series, quit making videogames after making the sequel (which I think he didn't even want to make in the first place)? Who owns the rights to the big rolling ball? I'm not sure if anyone's planning to make another katamari game ever.
