Addon Spotlight: My other Top 5 addons {WoW}

Feb 10th 2011 5:21PM Nominating GTFO for this one - try it once and you'll never stand in the fire again!

Cataclysm class and mastery systems explained {WoW}

Jul 7th 2010 2:04PM Yep, at max level it sounds fine... but while leveling it's going to be a pain the wazoo. While leveling my ret paladin it really helped to drop a few points in prot for a lower refresh on the stun. While leveling my enh shammy a couple points in the early ele talents were a big help. Even now at 80 my lock is using a Fel Ember spec (0/41/30) that wouldn't even be possible under the new system since it doesn't take the full 51 (to be 31) in any one tree.

It's probably too early to say whether it's overall good or bad for the game... but one of WoW's strengths has always been that you did have some flexibility, and from what I'm seeing here it looks like some of that is going away while leveling.

Enter to win an Ethereal Soul-Trader {WoW}

Jun 3rd 2010 1:11PM entry here!

The Light and How to Swing It: Handily healing heroics {WoW}

Apr 26th 2010 11:25AM Easy way... carry around a 50g for 50 charge Drum of Forgotten Kings. Now you can use Might on the tank to bump his threat, and still have 80% of the health buffer so you've got time to DPS a bit.

The Light and How to Swing It: Handily healing heroics {WoW}

Apr 26th 2010 11:18AM Fletcher - you're right if you're running these things when you're not overgeared for 'em. If gear (either for the healer or the tank) is an issue to the point where you need to exclusively concentrate on healing, yes, keep RF off and sit in the back and cast away.

This article is aimed at the folks who're way overgeared for heroics, trying to stay awake while healing a tank who's similarly overgeared for the instance. In this case you're generally right up in the thick of combat, tossing an occasional Flash to keep folks topped off, and praying for the revival of a viable shockadin build. If an add does wander in and start hitting you due to RF'd up heal aggro, you're right next to the tank, his threatplates will light up bright red, and he won't even have to move to yank that mob where it belongs.

TurpsterDoubleVision: Mounting Your Squire {WoW}

Sep 22nd 2009 6:34PM What's being missed in the video - ram is shown going into the tent by the pickup folks to get the barrel refresh on that end, which isn't actually required. If you turn around as soon as you toss the kegl to Pol, you'll get back to the apple barrel on the far side of the bridge before exhaustion sets in. Same thing on the end where you actually get the keg... the two end apple barrels don't need to be used, unless server lag causes you to miss one of the mid-course barrels.

Zarhym drops hints about Onyxia encounter, mount drop rate {WoW}

Aug 14th 2009 9:33AM Or... just have a bronze drake sitting outside the instance. Talk to the drake, go back in time into the L60 instance. Enter normally, get the L80 version.

Patch 3.1.1 notes released {WoW}

Apr 21st 2009 12:02PM Bah... no 'Clams' section. And here we were expecting a REAL patch. *grin*

Kaplan on being the "Cruise Director of Azeroth" at GDC '09 {WoW}

Apr 3rd 2009 7:00PM The stopwatches make a lot more sense if you dealt with mob respawn timers back then. From playing WoW now most people are used to repops in 1-5 minutes. Back then in early EQ you were looking at 15-40 minutes for trash, and times up well into the hours for rares.

Guildwatch: "Ok ready for summon" {WoW}

Mar 4th 2009 4:28PM Heh... looks like The Quon has been reincarnated... Lorlex on Firetree, is there something we should know?
