Jan 14th 2010 8:01PM Yes and no, while that works fine for short instances where it's a straight run through, that system doesn't work for instances that are broken up into two or three parts. A lot of the longer instances, like BRD or Mara are broken into two or three dungeons as far as the dungeon finder system is concerned. But they are still one dungeon in the achievement system.
So you get Lower BRD for your random dungeon, you would think that since it's divided into lower and upper, half way through the bosses would give you your satchel. What's half way through? If you go geographically it might be Golem Lord Argelmach or Lord Incendius. When it's actually High Interrogator Gerstahn. You can go straight to her, I'd hardly call her the boss half way through. Do you see my confusion?
I've only been leveling through the dungeon finder for the last ten levels or so, currently level 54. I don't know how many instances offer this sort of guess and check environment. In lower BRD you could spend hours trying to find the right boss when it should only take you 10-15 minutes.

Jan 14th 2010 6:22PM On recount: I've been leveling my prot warrior through the dungeon finder. Since I'm well geared I pull two and three packs at a time (if the healer is okay with it). I run Recount to tell who's doing the most damage, as a mage or lock normally has 50% of the groups damage due to their proficiency in aoe. This lets me pick the best target to throw Vigiliance (http://www.wowhead.com/?spell=50720) on. If I see someone doing particularly low dps, say 1/10th of mine, I'll try to help them out. I'll see if it's a spec or a gear problem, which it is most of the time, and give them a few pointers. Like, "You may not want to spread your talents evenly across all trees." What I'm saying here is run Recount if you can use it to be constructive. In my case it helps keep that top dpser alive as well as nudge a few noobs in the right direction.

On leveling through the dungeon finder: I find it would be very helpful to know which boss in every instance drops the satchel of loot. It was several runs through lower BRD before I figured out who dropped it there. A guide on some of these larger, and less straight forward, instances would be awesome. Or at least a list of who to kill to get your satchel in each place. As fun as full clears of BRD are, sometimes I just want the goods and bonus xp.

Jan 6th 2010 7:20PM It's really easy to ding 80 and have several epics. If you run the random dungeon from 70 on you'll be getting two emblems of triumph a day. If you have a crafting profession start gathering mats now. My 72 dk already has quite a bit of titansteel saved up. I just make sure I get one a day. There's little reason to hit 80 and not have some epics as long as you've been planning.

Clicking on the "So you want to be a hunter" link (http://www.wow.com/tag/want-to-be-a-hunter) in hopes of bringing up all six parts only shows three of them. I'm not sure why the other articles didn't get that tag.
I've got a friend who's a relatively new play who I'd like to read this articles but I can't link him to one spot where he could find all of them.
