Dungeon Finder bingo {WoW}

Dec 28th 2009 9:10PM My favorites so far:
-Right as we entered the instance: "I'm haeling. Do u hve tank set?" (I was marked the healer, he was marked the tank, on my Holy Pally)
-Right as we entered the instance: "I don't think this group is geared well enough". HoR. He had a 5000 GS, the rest of us had 4800.
-ANY dps druid. All but one has had horrific dps.
-As we enter the instance: "Is this N?". Seriously. YOU HAVE TO CHECK A BOX. How can you fail at that??
-Blizzard for failing to just random automatically on the Orbs. You greed, you get ninja'd. You need you get chewed out for being a jerk. Dumb.

Sep 12th 2009 3:11PM One issue I've seen completely overlooked on the "why warriors are still the prefered tank".

Answer: Acheivements and skills and similar things in the game.

You've been playing that toon for years, do you really want to level up all the necessary skills, acheivements, acquire cool mounts, rep, etc on a totally new tank just because it's slightly better at the moment? HECK NO. So you stick with the tank thats always been there, who's name you know (because how many of us call the person who's playing their 2nd/3rd/etc toon by their main's name?).

There are more warrior tanks b/c for a majority of the game it was the best tank out there and has the most emotional and time investment by players.

Progressive drop rates {WoW}

Mar 28th 2009 1:44PM I agree. There's a quest in HF where you have to dive underwater to catch fish from bushes. The first 7 bushes I checked I got 1 fish. Which is a terrible small quest rate, but in and of itself isn't awful. The sucky part is you have to swim from bush to bush, which takes forever. And it's not just a gather quest, its one of those gather, probably fight a hidden mob quests. Which are even more annoying since it combines the tedium of searching AND the tedium of killing a mob you really don't want to have to deal with. I was like 'you've got to be kidding me, how is this quest fun?'

I did the quest again on an alt, and it seems to take about 20+ bushes to get the 7 fish and took 10 minutes. The irritating thing is it unlocks other quests so you've got to do it. They've done an awesome job with this expansion, but someone fell asleep on that quest =)

Note: the horde journal part is funny, but considering you end up with 4-5 of them they should have all had different text to keep you occupied...

Feb 15th 2009 11:42PM "Free" mounts?? Do they have any idea how much time it takes to complete these things? I spend an entire week of each of them just focused on the event. As it is I need to play for an entire year just to get one. I mean seriously, isn't that enough? By the time we GET this thing it won't even be a cool mount anymore, they'll have released the next "uber duper super" fast mount that we need to spend 50k gold on to get trained.

Feb 9th 2009 2:37AM Ya, the problem is they're TOO good at shutting down casters. As a holy paladin if I get silenced by a DK I die. Aside from bubble I have 0 chance of surviving. All of my abilities, damage, and heals are shut off. By the time the silence wears off, he's killed me. Can't trinket out of it either, because technically I'm still in control of my character (phear my 160 white dps while he drops my 20k in 4 seconds).

Oh, and by the time my bubble wears off mind freeze has finished its cooldown, so nevermind, I'm dead anyway.

A plea for Divine Plea {WoW}

Feb 8th 2009 10:35PM Either way as a holy paly I'm still going to pop it almost as often. At 50% sure I'll think twice, but there are so many times when that extra 5kmana is more important than getting of a heal off in that particular 15 seconds. You just need to be strategic about it and hit it during luls in action, or at a time when you know someone will be able to cover it if you're a heal or 2 behind.

In 5-10 mans I hit it right after we down a group of mobs, by the time we move 40 yards & pull the next group and the tank has taken 5-10k damage the 15 seconds is up and so no penalty. The only time it would be an issue is in a chain heal situation, and there are less than a half dozen of those situations anywhere in the game anymore.

Jan 22nd 2009 7:07PM I am far from canceling my account. I will when I get bored of the game and then I'm sure I'll return to it at a later date as I have in the past.

But I do have to say that in the 4 years I've been a part of WoW, this is the worst patch so far. My game actually crashed (some kind of Arena error, it worked fine yesterday...immediately after the patch...) and I had to reinstall everything from 3.0 onward. I have had nothing but problems with all of the 3.0+ content, reinstalling the content twice now and multiple deletions and fixes. This computer is brand new, built by myself, high performance, has a sum total of 3 programs on it, no 3rd party WoW programs, and has run perfectly aside from the WoW issues. I never had a single issue on my old computer with classic and TBC.

Someone is at Bliz is screwing up their programing and needs to be fired.

Glyph of Holy Light nerfed {WoW}

Jan 22nd 2009 6:57PM Ok, to correct a few people on the mathematics of this glyph:

Holy Light cast time:
1.98 seconds with my gear (half purple Naxx/PvP, half best holy paly blue solo gear available) + Judgement of the Pure up. 1.48 seconds w/ Lights Grace (on every HL after the 1st). Here's a link to my armory stats, I'd say my gear is average:

Glyph activates ONLY on a CRITICAL HL hit. My critical HL was 44% on the last 4 hour Malygos & Naxx run I did ( ap). I get 1 gauranteed crit heal every 2 minutes with Divine Favor.

As a paly I have no HoTs and my only 'group' heal spell/ability is Beacon of Light, which takes 51 talent points to gain.

All this glyph does is help me retain my sanity a bit when trying to heal 20+ people. 1.5k is 5-10% of someone's health, which in a major fight is nothing. As this glyph has randomness to it I can NOT count on it to help me do any targeted healing.

We are and always have been the 3rd best healer in a raid. This single glyph was/is not going to change that. Ahh the life of a paladin, the continued brief glimpse of a taste of greatness to be snatched away immediately!

Insider Trader: Patch 3.0.8 {WoW}

Jan 10th 2009 2:35AM Blacksmiths screwed again. Holy paladin blacksmiths screwed ROYALLY again. Comon, the ONE item that's really nice for us in 2 years and it gets nerfed. F you Blizz. Reduce the spellpower? Fine. How about giving us some Int on a maybe one or two of the 50 new high level items??
