Is comparing your game to World of Warcraft really such a good idea? {WoW}

Jan 13th 2011 11:30PM They were never, ever, "primarily" a Mac game company, I don't know where you got that from.

Before Windows gaming arrived on PCs there was MS DOS. Warcraft 1 was released for that platform well over a year before the Mac version. Their first hit, The Lost Vikings, was released for DOS, Amiga, and various consoles. Not for Mac.

I won't deny that they have been very good about supporting the Mac, but to say that was ever their primary platform is just wishful thinking.

Jan 13th 2011 6:58PM "So does it work?"

Well they just got free exposure on the biggest WoW blog site, so obviously yes.

Jan 13th 2011 6:51PM "Play a healer or a tank"

This idiotic reply is getting old.

"The dungeon finder queue times are not Blizzards fault"

Yes they are. Blizzard designs the game, Blizzard makes tanking and healing fun or not fun. If insufficient people want to tank or heal because it's not fun, as is the case at present, then that's a fault in Blizzard's design.

Ghostcrawler responds to heroic dungeon difficulty complaints {WoW}

Translation: "I'm right, but my bosses have seen the subscription figures"

You're right, but this whole argument boils down to the simple fact that many of the hardcore players don't want you to have any cake at all, because the cake doesn't taste as good to them if other people are allowed to have it too. Even when they have heroic cake you're still not allowed to taste the normal cake, because you should know your place and be happy with bread and water.

"Steady Shot cast time is now affected by haste."

Do the developers actually know how hunters work or not? Can Zarhym convince us that they know what they're doing? You decide!

Patch 4.0.6 PTR patch notes updated {WoW}

Jan 11th 2011 11:02PM And that's not the point anyway. Everyone know MM and BM need a buff.

But SV is not so far ahead of other dps classes that it needs nerfs of this magnitude. Fkn ridiculous.

Patch 4.0.6 PTR patch notes updated {WoW}

Jan 11th 2011 11:01PM Yeah, you might want to look more closely at the figures for BM and MM hunters in that link, they're borked...minimum values of 652 and 562 dps respectively...any hunter that does 10-11k dps in a 25-man raid in ANY spec is useless.

Patch 4.0.6 PTR: New DPS meta-gems and requirement fixes {WoW}

Jan 7th 2011 9:56AM Hmm, well I shouldn't complain but I agree with other posters that 3 red gems is almost a complete no-brainer. It's still worth gemming for the +30 socket bonus on helms in most cases, but apart from that just stack red gems.

What was so wrong with the original requirement of at least 1 red/yellow/blue?

Also, good job on taking this long to realise that WotLK metas like Relentless Earthsiege (21 agi/3% crit) were better for many classes than the crappy Cata dps meta (54 crit/3% crit). You really have to wonder about the person who designed meta gems for Cataclysm...did they actually have any clue at all about how the game works?
