Oct 4th 2009 12:59AM I think what Graill is saying is that he and his grad students published their paper on the subject long before this Indiana University study commenced, and that their findings were that correlations between real-world and virtual-world economies were negligible, at best.
Oct 1st 2009 8:33PM Wizards and elves and Eve-style offline training, oh my! I would like to beta test this game.
Oct 1st 2009 8:32PM It seems bizarre that in this day and age, a company would find themselves post launch thinking, "oh, gold spammers, damn, I guess we better think about what we can do to deal with that." Seriously, did they not expect this?
Oct 1st 2009 2:27AM Well fancy that, I'd never heard of the SW:G Senate before, but it does indeed seem to have been launched a good eight months earlier than Eve's CSM.
I guess it didn't make a lot of news since SW:G was basically dead in the water long before then. But it's interesting to know that the CSM wasn't the first of its kind, given how much publicity it has gotten as an innovation in the MMORPG field.
Oct 1st 2009 2:18AM Obama is president of Iceland? Who knew!
Sep 29th 2009 5:47PM "i like fresh air, sunshine, and a healthy, slim waistline"
caj190 likes those things.. almost as much as he likes sitting in his mom's basement, trolling on a site about internet elf and wizard games, like the nerdiest of nerds.
Sep 27th 2009 5:16PM I don't think that animations get "ignored" by small developers, as such. It's just that it is by far the hardest part of the graphical work to do a good job on, and most small developers simply don't have the talent in their teams that you need to do good, realistic, expressive animations.
I'm sure the Fallen Earth team are quite aware of how bad their animations look, but it could literally take a couple of years work by a team of artists more experienced than they can afford to fix them all up.
Sep 21st 2009 3:39AM See http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Oktoberfest - "The Munich Oktoberfest, traditionally, takes place during the sixteen days up to and including the first Sunday in October".
That's why Brewfest is on now. Not because Aion and some terrible fail indie game are launching now.
Sep 21st 2009 3:37AM GAH attached to wrong story, should have been at http://www.massively.com/2009/09/20/pandemic-legion-crowned-eve-alliance-tournament-vii-champs
Sep 21st 2009 3:36AM Currently 3 out of 10 articles on the homepage are about EVE. I don't think that's at all unreasonable for the second-biggest subscription MMORPG.
