Mar 14th 2011 5:04PM Fel flame is meant as an instant-cast spell that you spam while you're on the move, and shadowflame can't be used, and you don't need to refresh any of your instant-cast dots. It's an extremely weak spell, and 6k DPS in 333 gear is very very much on the low end, especially with the 15% pug buff. When my warlock just hit 85 and was too low to even queue for randoms, I got taken into a heroic by guildies, and managed 9-10k+ DPS without the 15% buff.
In addition, you should spec into Soulburn: Seed of Corruption as it's a useful spell on any fight with adds, like Cho'gall, Halfus, etc. The simcraft specs don't spec into it because they only simulate single target fights.
Jan 26th 2011 6:11PM About Slabhide and LoSing him when the pillars drop in his hitbox: If you turn off your auto-attack (press ESC), then your LoS will be successful. There's been similar bugs in the past, where if you're still within range and auto-attacking a boss, it for some reason doesn't recognize that you're LoSing an ability.
Jan 5th 2011 11:04PM I would very much like to know the answer to this as well. Any alchemists in a guild that has this perk already, who'd like to test it out? Far more important to me is retaining the +80 stat/+120 stam bonuses from Mixology.
Nov 29th 2010 9:17AM Why go through all the hassles of security/level requirements? Our guild leader just has us whisper him on our already-guilded toons the name of our alt and then we can swap over for an invite. If we happen to be on vent, I can also just ask over vent for an invite.
Nov 15th 2010 6:15AM The change is decent I suppose, but honestly, my biggest problem with LoD is its conal positioning requirement, and the fact that like Cone of Cold, it's not the most accurate thing in the world to gauge. So to have the new spell be:
Consumes all Holy Power to send a wave of healing energy before you, healing up to 5 of the most injured targets in your party or raid within a 30 yard frontal cone for 1009 to 1123 per charge of Holy Power.
Doesn't fill me with excitement. With people spread out, or if I'm at a slightly off angle, I get to heal the 1 most injured person in my raid that happens to be in my cone? Bah.
Sep 5th 2010 8:21PM Prot pallies will get something similar to ret's judgements of the wise, which returns mana whenever they judge. They shouldn't feel the brunt of this change.
For me, I'm perfectly okay with the melee healer model, but the problem is that healers can't always be in melee. For example - think of Kologarn, where every caster in melee gets locked out of their spells on a timer. Or Festergut, where I've found ranged a much easier to place to be so I don't have to move as much for malleable goo. They've done a lot to make holy pallies a bit more mobile, with speed of light and our instant aoes, so maybe that makes us a bit more viable in melee, but we're still relatively stationary healers compared to a class like the druid.
I'm anticipating that if we are balanced around Seal of Insight, we'll either be overpowered when we can be in melee, or severely underpowered when the fight mechanics don't allow for it.
Jun 8th 2010 9:44AM The Light of Dawn
Not quite there yet, but we're getting close!
Jun 3rd 2010 12:10PM Yeah, I completely read that as 'into' as well. D: It was the most horrifying mental image ever.
May 19th 2010 4:05AM According to the FAQ, they'll be limiting the number of transactions per day to 200. Any real AH powerplayer will have far more than 200 auctions put up per day, and have addons to help them facilitate the huge quantities of items they buy & sell. I can't imagine this web interface having much use to players like that, and I don't think it spells doom and gloom for the markets.
