"It's simple. All females just need to suck it up or quit. They cry about equal rights with everything in RL, now they have to bring it to Azeroth.
Blizzard is tailoring to what..97% 98% male gender? I hardly think they'll miss the miniscule 2% of women that are offended."
You judge how civilised a society is by how well it treats and respects its minorities, not how easily it panders to the majority.
I'm guessing that you're a straight, single, white male. It's probably hard for you to imagine what it feels like to be regarded as nothing more than a pair of breasts, or as nothing more than your skin colour, or as nothing more than gay. Etc, etc.
If I were you I'd thank God that I wasn't a woman, or coloured, or gay, because, with your bargain basement attitude, you wouldn't last five minutes as anything else.
Mar 16th 2009 8:52PM You, sir, are a fool.
If you think that Chinese gold farmers spend their time reading WoW Insider to find out where to do things then you're deluding yourself.
They have better things to do (ie, farm gold), and they already know everything there is to know about where/how to farm things from other sources. They use Wowhead.com. They avoid competing against each other. They share information. Or did you not realise any of this already?
Yes, this is helping some people. There's nothing above that a smarter player didn't already know, so what are you crying about? Competition from other players at "your" special grinding spot?
Newsflash for you: it's not "your" spot, it's everybody's.
Mar 3rd 2009 6:35PM Sorry, but Denyin' the Scion is very easy for everybody.
The key thing is that it doesn't need to be done on a successful kill of Malygos: you can get it on a kill, or you can get it on a wipe.
In my guild, we made a point of letting the healers get this achievement while chasing the You Don't Have An Eternity achievement. If we weren't going to make the 6 minute timer, we wiped, but first we let the healers all get a killing blow before we did so.
All Denyin' the Scion takes is a little teamwork and little common sense, et voila, achievement done.
Feb 25th 2009 3:02AM "Additional Instances Cannot Be Launched". I had to read 100 comments before I saw someone write those words.
Think about what happens when you use this ghetto-hearthing circumvention of intended game mechanics: a new instance is launched on an instance server somewhere, an instance that is active (and virtually unused ) for 30 minutes.
The resources that are being used by that instance could be being used elsewhere. Your quick trip into The Stockade of The Wailing Caverns might well mean that there's a group trying to get into an instance that's constantly running into the instance barrier only to see those dreaded five words: "Additional Instances Cannot Be Launched".
Resources aren't infinite. Some people will complain about how they should be, but the reality is that they aren't. That's life. If this change means that five (or 10, or 25) people who are ready to go kill something are more likely to have a trouble-free time just getting into their instance then it is a good thing, and something to welcome rather than something to scorn.
Big letters, small words time for those that have problems with reading: THIS IS A GOOD THING.
(Do I even need to point out how this was a huge abuse of the intended game mechanics? Come on, we all know it was a little bit naughty, right?)
Perhaps people will plan their trips to Stormwind or Orgrimmar with more care now. Perhaps they'll learn to be friendlier to Mages and Warlocks when they want to get from A to B in a hurry. (Social interaction in a MMORPG? No way!) Perhaps they'll learn that other tricks that'll save them having to make trips back and forth.
Somehow I doubt this change, which is being made for good reasons, will signal the end of civilisation as we know it.
Dec 28th 2008 8:36AM Well, the Jewelcrafting daily is must for those of us with that profession, ditto the Cooking daily for those of us that raid.
The Overstocked! daily from K3 is both fun and profitable (2-3 mins flight time from Dalaran, 1-2 mins to do, and people still complain that dailies take too long...), and Thrusting Hodir's Spear is one of the most enjoyable quests that I've found, and it'll be a long while before that gets dull.
And, of course, the heroic and normal instance dailies are always on the to-do list.
