Mar 19th 2011 12:38AM @Natsumi Hit & crit are tank stats now? That's news to me...and here I thought expertise and mastery were preferred by tanks in general...
Mar 18th 2011 9:49PM I have two things to share on this subject:
1: Epicness abounds in this article.
2. DK tank weapon. Warriors and paladins, look elsewhere. There, I've said it. Let the grand debate commence!
Mar 1st 2011 8:10PM Minor glyphs are intended to be quality of life or cosmetic changes, and not have any major effect of PvE or PvP (see: Mana reductions on raid buffs) - the Raise Ally glyph could arguably be a buff to both, albeit highly situational.
I'd rather see a new Raise Ally minor glyph that lowered the RP cost by 50% - as it stands, Rebirth costs Druids a GCD, really, as many druids will have enough haste to bring its cast time down quite a bit, and don't have to wait for any particular mana level to cast it. If a DK is doing their job right, they won't constantly be at 50 RP and be able to pump out a rebirth on demand like a druid can.
Don't get me wrong, very stoked about this change overall as it brings a bit more cachet to an already desirable class.
Feb 25th 2011 12:02AM I'd protect it from my pocket - apparently my work pants' pockets are lined with 240-grit sand paper, at least my last phone thought so :-/
Feb 22nd 2011 7:08PM The main-target extension was from Glyph of Disease back in the day, around the same time that the SS glyph had a chance to extend disease up time. It was a QoL for Frost more than anything else, because it saved them a GCD. Outbreak and Festering Strike obviated the need for the glyph though, as Frost now reapplies FF as a normal part of their rotation, and Blood can generally afford to burn two GCDs reapplying diseases when they're ~30 seconds into a fight.
Feb 7th 2011 2:10PM "and there's still a question of GPL licensed code being sold on the App Store"
Well, easy enough - release it for free, I would gladly hit up a donation link on the developer's website (once I have the iPad 2 in hand, at least)
Jan 4th 2011 9:43AM Based on feedback from healers in my guild who've ran with other DK tanks, they generally say that my 100%+ blood shield smooths out healing for them much better than those that have stacked stam or avoidance over mastery. Like Daniel mentioned, managing uptime for the shield is critical, though, and I do favor DS over HS for most fights, switching to HS spam only for targeted AoE pulls. An add-on, unfortunately, is critical for watching when your shield has broken or faded.
Jan 4th 2011 9:38AM Not really - the blood shield is based off of DS' amount healed, which is in turn based on 7% of the DK's health or the 25% of the amount of damage taken in the previous 5 seconds, whichever is higher, rather than the amount of damage dealt.
Dec 28th 2010 11:41AM In for one!
Dec 27th 2010 10:54PM I think they need to balance it out with our over-reliance on haste as a secondary...while I love striking hard and fast in unholy, when switching to my tank spec it feels ponderous waiting for that looong 1.5s GCD. And if I'm RP starved, the unhasted rune CD feels like an eternity, and always seems to come during those "oh $h!t" moments.
