Totem Talk: 3 reasons enhancement shaman should be excited for Mists of Pandaria {WoW}

Feb 26th 2012 2:48AM 3 reasons not to be excited by mists...
1.) Enh Shaman will be played THIS way, 2h weapons, MH Windfury, offhand Flame tounge, NO, you will not actually be a hybrid class in this spec. You are a hunter, without a pet. Don't even try being something else, we'll nerf it.
2.) Everyone has Bloodlust and water walking now...might was well play a pally, that way you can wear plate.
and finally...
3.) Sinister Squashling...I Chooses YOU!

They really just should change the specs to be a button of "best choices", and just have an "attack" button that burns your abilities as they come off cool down automatically. That's essentially what they have done to this point. Remember back in vanilla, when sometimes it was worthwhile to use a 2H mace, and gasp...a sheild!?!

I'd like to see "shield as weapon" as a enh spec ability (sheild becomes OH weapon somehow), and a talent to "throw" it. (like a boomerang), with various ways to "charge" the shield (lightning, fire, ice?) then again, i am asking for variety. Hey at least we can customize our gear....oh, well, sorta kinda, no, not really.

Ahh well, the time to move on had to come sooner or later I guess, it was a good run.

Officers' Quarters: Guilds struggled after Cataclysm's raid changes {WoW}

Jan 16th 2012 1:57PM It Killed our guild. Albeit I think it was on the decline already, but it was a significant push over the cliff. In Wrath, we ran two 10 man teams and a 25 man unit through the week on the off days of the 10 mans (which both ran concurrently) First the 25 mans went, then we were down to one 10 man, now, it's a surprise if we have enough to raid. Other factors have contributed as well, like the announcement of Kung-Fu pokemon, erm Mists of Pandora expansion coming up next, announcing to us that the game is going in a direction not for most of our members (adults), but those were just re-enforcing factors to the guild changes as a whole. but hey, they gotta do what works for them as a whole, and I don't begrudge it. I just play other games now.

5 ways to improve the Raid Finder {WoW}

Dec 16th 2011 9:54AM "while adding class restrictions to loot in the Dragon Soul Raid Finder was a good start,..." Actually, it was what killed the LFR tool for me. I am tired or Blizzard defining EXACTLY how my class/spec should be played. Simple example, the Stam/Mastery proc trinket could be a good one for my Enhancment shaman. Since mastery is huge, and we stand right next to the boss like the tank, added stam is a must. Particually with all the melee mail items being tuned for hunters with all the haste and crit. And now, for weapons, i really only need to fight a single boss, and compete with Rogues and Warrior for the Axe.

Just do the loot this way: Need before greed. "Class and Role" get a +50% bonus, only Class Or only Role: +25% bonus. This lets the mt fighter roll on plate tanking gear, and most likely win it. GIves the dps Paladin a chance to will it that is equal to the DPS DK, and doesn't let anyone else win it. In the case of healer trinket tuned for priests, for example, the Healer priest gets +50%, the Elemental Shaman gets +25%, and the Resto Druid gets +25% (role but not class) in the case of all 3 rolling "Greed", but if either the priest or Druid roll "Need", the Elemental shaman is out, due to "Need before Greed" based on Role. and get rid of the class specific restrictions. Gad Dang it, if I want to "greed" the healer trinket, and none of the other healers "need" it, let me have it for Off Spec if i win the greed role. (which I might sill have to overcome a +25% or +50% bonus)

Why is this so hard?

The should also not let your role if it's a duplicate. of an item you already have.

Raid Finder items reclassified for intended classes {WoW}

Dec 14th 2011 12:30AM Oh good, now I have no reason to actually try the LFR tool. I was thinking about giving it a shot, but now only 1 weapon, and have the other stuff for "Shaman" has Haste or Crit, so it's really for Rogues anyway. Whew. Now we can go back to trolling LFR in Trade chat instead, for a "standard" raid.
Why is this so hard. Let people roll, and rather than give them a 100% bonus to "designated class/roll" Make it something like +50% class/role, +25% class/OS bonus,
still need before greed.
This goes more to Blizz defining EXACTLY how each class/role should be played (slowly since BC...almost didn't notice did you?). Which is why the new talent system doesn't ACTUALLY end cookie cutter "specs", since well, the specs themselves are cookie cutter. They're just easing you into having your entire toon/play style force fed to you. Shame too, I was kinda digging the idea of the LFR Tool, now, I think this just ensures WoW dies for players like me.

Blue Posts and Other WoW News: In which Nethaera gives us much more on the Mists of Pandaria talent overhaul decision {WoW}

Dec 10th 2011 10:50AM What struck me on this, while they seem to be asking for feedback and "interested" in it, not one single time did they go, thanks, that's a good point. Or thanks, we'll consider it. At every comment, all they did was "defend" against it, and attempt to debunk it. So, to me, they really aren't interested in any REAL feedback, but what they have decided is the way it will be, and really only want "tweaks" feedback for fine-tuning it.
Somehow they still seem to think they "did away" with cookie cutter specs, and in reality, they actually made them more so by building basically everything into the spec the way THEY see the spec should be played, and added some random "utility" talents that might be useful in some cases. Ah well, I watched them ram this down our throats since Wrath, this is just the train chugging on. SWTOR/RIFT here I come....

Ghostcrawler on the philosophy behind the Mists of Pandaria talent trees {WoW}

Dec 8th 2011 1:35PM The problem is that they seem to think the new talent system gives more variety/eliminates cookie cutter specs. however, they fail to take into account, they have effectively FORCED the specs to be cookie cutter by removing all talent choices (this really started with Cataclysm) that affect the way you actually play your role. It's been made worse by forcing a philosophy on the specs themselves. I.E. enhance shaman is a dual wield spec that WILL use the windfury on mh and flametounge on the other. I found before the last round of changes, I liked using a caster MH weapon with frostbrand, frozen power talent, and Lava Burst, so I could throw Lava burst into the mix. This system goes even further to force a play style onto a spec, but we get "variety" by randomly picking talents that sometimes will be better in certain situations, and probably nerfed on certain bosses anyway. Its cookie cutter at the core, which is fine, but stop espousing like you've done away with "cookie cutter specs". Variety was like in BC, when sometimes I would us a 2h weapon, or maybe even a shield!, and had a few talents that were unique and actually had value, without killing the overall build

Breakfast Topic: Will Raid Finder popularity be sustainable? {WoW}

Dec 6th 2011 9:40AM I predict they will change it so that it becomes the defacto way to get Epic Gems once that lull is hit. They also could always add a "hard mode" with better loot. either way, I think they will massage it to be useful between content drops. We'll see.

Official Raid Finder Q&A {WoW}

Nov 30th 2011 9:37AM Sounds interesting. Here's the dilemma. The gear that is really keeping my item level down are helm and shoulders. The only way to get an upgrade on helm and shoulders is in raid. I don't raid/can't make most of our guild raids, I also can't use the raid finder to get into raids, because I don't have the gear score... Leaving me but 2 options, grind randoms and hope for a drop that is at least "better" (see, those justice and valor points can't be used on those items, without a RAID drop!), or grind pvp. damn it!. Well, I for one think the raid finder is a cool idea, even though I won't get to use it for a while, if ever. if it's successful it would be fun to see them bring back 40 mans, probably easier to fill this way.

Blizzard unveils Mists of Pandaria talent calculator {WoW}

Nov 23rd 2011 10:31AM I still like how they are proposing these changes as getting rid of "Cookie Cutter" specs. Since dropping to 31-point talent trees, there's really no option for variety. This is actually worse, not better. Now each spec "automatically" is cookie cutter. The only differences are these "utility" talents, which will have minimal impact, if any. I still think it's even more of a dumbing down of the game. That said, it's had a long run, maybe it's time to relegate it to a kiddie game and release their next MMO.

Poh, your move: "Pikachu, I choose you"

The New Class: Monks and class balance {WoW}

Nov 1st 2011 9:30PM I hate 3 role hybrids. I think it's the flaw with the DK, and will be with the Monk. The 2 role hybrids were designed to kind of be good at one, while still being able to fill in at the other in emergencies. The Paladin suffers from this as well, but in the beginning the pally wasn't uber dps and uber heals, and a superior tank. They could tank, and the healing was pretty good. For a while they were top dps and heals and a very good tank, and that was bs. They tweaked it from that point on, and the class isn't as annoying. DK's are annoying, Monks will be too
