Jun 27th 2009 8:12AM it is more likely they neglected to include it into the patch notes then rethought their decision. Don't forget, there was also a huge backlash against taking out the original protodrakes when ulduar was being released, they didn't flinch. That fact, plus their tone in the original announcement of their removal this time leads me to believe they will not change their minds, no matter how bad an idea it is, no matter what other alternatives are suggested. As they have stated, they have their mindsets on what these drakes are- the PvE versions of gladiator drakes and they aren't opening those up past their due dates either, count on that!
Jun 19th 2009 8:45AM if this leads to BG gear being as good as arena gear, allowing for real BG progression, I will be so happy. Arena being picked as the gear check still pisses me off.
May 29th 2009 8:10AM One thing to really consider is that the Alliance consists mostly of the races that have been wronged by the legion and seek a world without such strife. The Horde are mostly the races who were used by the legion to do their dirty work and are now fighting their inner-selves for redemption and a place in the world they almost destroyed. This doesn't make the horde evil in its present incarnation, but they are ex-evil and very much the ones most in danger of returning to that life.
May 29th 2009 8:01AM they don't apply in totality, but if you were part of the evil faction who was put on the defensive because you were attacked (by say a gnome rogue sneaking up behind you), it wouldn't make you less evil. You seem like you are trying to say if one side is evil, they are always attacking while the good side always defends. Lore would be a better method to determine what is what then how playerX or the Alliance reacts when he sees your hordie =P
I wouldn't say either faction is evil, but to call the alliance the brutal faction of the two is laughable. The Alliance consists mostly of the races that have been wronged by the legion and seek a world without such strife. The Horde are mostly the races who were used by the legion to do their dirty work and are now fighting their inner-selves for redemption and a place in the world they almost destroyed. This doesn't make the horde evil in its present incarnation, but they are very ex-evil, very much the ones most in danger of returning to that life.
May 28th 2009 9:31PM yes, 100% this is where i sit. Horde lore is just built upon a house of cards a lot of the time and doesn't have the depth of alliance lore, despite being commonly built upon its shoulders.
May 28th 2009 9:23PM lol, good guys. if anything they are the bad guys who try to redeem themselves (tho aside from Thrall, even this is not really true)
May 28th 2009 12:42PM I play alliance now after spending a good amount of time with the horde through BC (4 lvl70s). To me, the lore for their side was just too shallow, especially when it concerns alliance between their races. Blood Elves allying with the Orcs and Undead who attacked them (they hold heavy grudges) because they think Humanity should have arrived to their aid sooner when they were sneak attacked (nevermind they saved them from the orcs the first time). Undead being welcomed by Thrall, because the Earthen Ring asks him too (out of nowhere)? The Forsaken's pleading of innocence and pure intentions when they spent the entirety of their military resources on a plague to kill the living and the scourge, OPENLY?! The strong and noble Thrall getting walked over repeatedly by his second in command? I really could go on and on and on, their inner-relations are just shallow and unbelievable. I got tired of it. The alliance doesn't have the drama style excitement the horde do in their inner-relations, true... but at least it isn't reading like a soap opera.
May 28th 2009 12:34PM there is one where you do something like 30k healing in a BG to a single player. I think that is it.
May 28th 2009 10:00AM yeah, pretty much 90% of the BG achievements work best for non 80s. Having friends and leveling buddies come to me with sometimes 3 of these achievements a battle, many of which i can't get on my main, makes me a believer. I'm personally planning on hitting the BGs hard on my druid at lvl69.
May 18th 2009 11:28PM lorewise kael wasn't in two places at once though, and neither was onyxia. it was all just a matter of them being in one place before they were in another. I'm happy they didn't move kael and phasing will help other onyxia-like characters in the future, but with even a basic knowledge of lore, none of this stuff is hard to figure out.
