Oct 15th 2009 3:03PM I'm in the same boat as you are for my WoW acct being more secure then my online banking.
On the note of security through obscurity, even with authentication, your acct is still only as secure as you are intelligence. There was a recent study for bank security that recommended that you have a dedicated machine (or Live CD) for bank access to prevent keyloggers, real time tunnels with packet spoofing (which can hijack your log in, as the hijack would snag the Auth Code and use it in real time), and other security hazards from compromising your acct.
Basically, what I am trying to say here is that users still need to act intelligently with their computers - more technology is only added protection against simple attacks, not immunity. With all the information in one acct, the danger is not different then on separate accts. A compromised machine will give them all the access to your accts either way.
Sep 9th 2009 4:56PM The keyboard profile would be nice, but I would rather see the A2DP finished out with the remote control protocols, and expect that is probably a more common interest.
Aug 31st 2009 9:57AM I love me the Ruin matches on AV! Killing Drek in 10 minutes flat is sweet sweet honor.
On the flip side, I don't think that I have ever one a WSG in any bracket.
Aug 27th 2009 2:27PM Supported point - the Priest and Druid buff are the same as the *untalented* versions. The Inscription Fort will be 165. A priest giving the buff will have it talented, for 214 Stamina. Same kind of math for a talented Druid buff. The BoK is no longer talented, and so any paladin can provide the full 10%.
In short, this isn't a reason not to bring the class, just a reason no to be total lacking critical buffs otherwise.
Feb 6th 2009 10:34AM @Mitawa: The AQ mounts to in fact count towards the total. At least, they count towards the 50 achievement. In the Wowhead comments, they are listed in the big list, and there is a comment down a little further from Druanna where they "confirm" it.
Feb 6th 2009 10:22AM There are four quests that you can do to try and get the rare mount. It is in the following bag, which is a quest reward:
I should warn that it is a .1% drop rate from the bag, according to wowhead.
You will need to be about part way through the "major" questline for Storm Peaks.
Feb 6th 2009 8:50AM Don't forget about the Battle mounts from AQ40. With a small group, you can farm the trash in the first part of the instance, and the drop rate is pretty good. I went with 5 or so guildies and we picked up 7 or so (collectively) killing the trash to the first boss, and the respawns after we knocked out AQ20. Each color counts towards the total.
Jan 29th 2009 12:33AM The idea that the human eye can not track things going faster then 30 frames per second, or that it will not make a difference is ludicrous. Seriously, take a moment to think about it - most classic 2D fighters (Street Fighter) require that you hit a button as a reaction in a *3 frame* window, at 24 frames per second. Play on a computer that runs consistently and *only* 60 frames per second, and tell me that it does not feel smoother, that your eyes don't feel more relaxed, and that the picture quality is not better. I hate to reference Wikipedia, but it is late:
I have seen other studies that support that as well. The effects of the refresh rate going up is positive (with diminishing returns) up to (depending on your specific eye) 85 hz.
Also, with regard to the shadows - The look pretty, but the more shadows, and details that you are shadowing, the more strain on the card. For a simple shadow the screen has to be processed effectively twice. With shadows all the way up, the work load on your computer is increased by an order of magnitude.
Jan 23rd 2009 12:03AM Even as a holy priest with no invis pot, I snagged the fires from all the capital cities. If you time it right, it should not be too hard. The ones that will be a little harder are the upper level Vanilla instances that are more difficult for a squishy priest to solo.
Jan 11th 2009 12:53PM I got wood for sheep!
