May 11th 2009 4:33PM I remember that our first fragment drop caused some fracas too... it was given to one of our officers, healer if chief for the last 3 years, properly justified, and people were still ranting.
IMHO Scott is right here: instead of justifying why you or another officer should have got it, ask them to justify why they were better suited (the fact is that they were not, but they should end up begging for forgiveness. Or something similar).
Apr 21st 2009 4:34AM While this has nothing to do with Ultra video settings, I have installed DynPerfs ( http://wow.curse.com/downloads/wow-addons/details/dynperf.aspx ) yesterday, and it changed everything for me.
My computer is decent (acceptable CPU, big GFX card), and I used to get between 50 and... 8 FPS depending on the situation (raid = the lowest).
I almost never seen anything below 28 FPS now. Give it a try ;)
Mar 17th 2009 9:00AM @dude: maybe in YOUR definition of MMORPG. As far as I know the acronym doesn't contain anything like "7 nights a week" or "impossible for 99% of players";
While I do regret some of the past difficulties, it makes perfect sense that Blizzard is going this way.
Good article, Zach.
Mar 4th 2009 4:55AM Anyone knows if there is an option to disable this ? The fact is that most players already ask on the public channels where this or that mob is, and most don't read the quests descriptions... those who do are still free either to disable the info (if possible) or avoid paying attention to it...
Mar 4th 2009 4:06AM I can only agree here... as a Paladin tank, I'm always a bit bitter seeing that the only tanks able to MT Sarth 3D is one we don't have... we no longer have a bear druid, and our death knights are not experienced enough. We are then stuck at Sarth 2D despite our best efforts...
I really believe something is wrong here. Even though I perfectly understand that each class will perform better than another one on this or that encounter, it should not happen any longer that you need a DK to win a fight. Wasn't there something like "Bring the player, not the class" ?
Feb 25th 2009 3:37AM Again, every possible difficulty or limit is removed... I understand why the feature would be available from level 40 (50 or even 55 would have been enough in my opinion), but I don't really understand why the reagent requirement had to be removed.
Constraints don't make the game suck... being too easy does.
Feb 24th 2009 12:01PM My guess would be Maximum health. This is to confirm though. For a tankadin, it's not a HUGE limit :)
Feb 24th 2009 10:06AM First, thanks for this good summary. I have a few remarks, though :)
Blessing of Sanctuary changes: as I was reminded by the maintankadin forums guys, BoSanc doesn't only provide a power regen. It also provides -3% to all incoming damage.
DPS up on several spells: Holy Shield, Avenger's Shield and Shield of Righteousness damages were previously (+30%) by Shield of the Templar. Since the goal wasn't a nerf of Tankadins damages, the single 3 buffs were upped. The damage upgrade is by no mean a tankadin up, it's just a rework of these spells damages.
Finally, the extra threat for Shield of the templar is just a tooltip update: it was actually removed in 3.0 ;)
Jan 13th 2009 9:16AM I never changed the name of any of my chars. I usually start by looking for a some syllaba or sound, and move from it. My main is named Calthas (I discovered recently that it happens to be an aquatic herb name...), my "main" alt is Artaneos, and my mage Kaelorann. I love all of them, and would really feel weird if I had to change my name.
Regarding your char's name, I wouldn't have changed it. It's not as if iti was on purpose or anything, and most people won't know about it anyway.
Jan 12th 2009 10:37AM Our rogues & mages always vanish when we wipe. One of our great games is to run toward them with an AE boss to break their vanish. I don't think any of them dances when this happens, or they'd really get into trouble :)
