Sep 15th 2011 3:21PM I remember that there was a time (dont exactly know when), when resilience had a similar effect to defense rating, and some of the best-in-slot bear tank gear was from PVP.
A tip to rookies: if you are a boomkin / healer druid / any priest / caster or healer shaman who is just gearing up, get 2 pieces of each set first. There are healer and caster gear sets, and the 2-piece set bonus for both is extra resilience. If you have 4 items, you get 2x the extra resilience, which can be really helpful. Also get the movement impairing removing trinket with extra resilience, and then continue with rest of the gear.
Sep 2nd 2011 8:35AM Considering the price issue first, I think that right now WoW has a big one-time investment, if you want to buy all expansions. I really like how they merged BC with the original, and if I were Blizz, I would add goblins/worgens to that package as well. It would not be too big stretch, the new leveling content is also available with the starter package, and you could buy Cata just when you reach lvl80 even if you want to play a goblin.
Personally I prefer long expansions, because I dont like the whole level-reset. I feel that giving out 10+ levels each year would only mean that the cap to close from lvl1 is getting bigger, and I really dont think that faster leveling solves this issue (faster leveling just means skipping entire zones, instances). I understand it from the financial standpoint of Blizz, but then make the expansions a little cheaper. I would like to see a cheaper Battle Chest with Original-BC-LK, and when next expansion comes, make it Vanilla-Bc-LK-Cata, for the same (or lower) price.
I think Cata would deserve big content patches for all kind of elemental planes before going against Deathwing. We had some of air, lot of fire, now should come the water and then earth with Deathwing. I am not happy with how they miss the Vajsh'ir thread.
Aug 19th 2011 8:10AM My first ever character was a Night Elf Druid (female), and it was my main during the end of Vanilla and during BC. I never played a horde character until I wanted to see what the blood elf starting zone looks like, and I just fell in love with the Horde. I abandoned my poor druid, and started to play with trolls, taurens and blood elves - I have not even logged in with her. As soon as faction change came, she became he - a mighty tauren bull and I played with it until Cataclysm (when they took the tree). I never for a moment missed the Alliance part, but I was very very glad that I could go on with my druid. Although thruth to be told, I played differently when it was her: she never joined outdoor pvp (very unlike him). There is a tiny thread connecting them, but truth to be told, I dont feel they are the same character. The only connection between her and him is the loyalty to Cenarion, and although I have other titles, I never change Guardian of Cenarius.
Jun 28th 2011 3:59AM There was actually an article about this here:
Well it was a long time ago but I was also very happy to read about it on my favorite site and that's why my poor lvl80 druid was sitting on the edge of a cliff in Uldum, with lots of volatile life in his bags :) You dont even need the level requirement for Uldum, just fly in, find a nice sanddune, and the result is guaranteed.
Jun 22nd 2011 7:07AM If you are having trouble remembering your keybindings, try this addon:
A recommendation for Vardelm:
try out OPIE. First of all, because its the best addon on earth. Second, because it fits your ideas perfectly, hidden rings where you can put everything you dont use all the time .
For example, on my shaman I have a ring for the weapon enchants. Just one keybind (Shift+V for me), and it shows a ring with all of the possibilities: you can also set the 'automatic' one. I have another ring for leftover spells that I dont use often: water breating/waterwalking/astral recall, etc.
I also made an opie ring for the micro menu, which I think is fantastic. Its a little hard to set up (you have to make macros for the windows and put these macros in opie), but it is sleek and convenient. If anyone is interested, I can share :)
I use something really similar to this, except that I dont like Tellmewhen. I mainly set up power auras for everything (yeah my screen glows like crazy :), but for the rest i have a little bartender bar with OmniCC. The rest of the bars are hidden to about 20% transparency (great for emergency situations, but not too visible).
Jun 22nd 2011 6:54AM I actually like the idea of having lots of stamina on it, for me it marks that this is really a warlock weapon. Do I remember correctly that in BC the warlock gear had much more stamina than other cloth, so you can safely tap your life to get mana?
All in all, it would be nice to have some intellect on it, but I still hope it drops for my lock. Also, now that Archeology brought all kind of epic - account bound items, why not make this one like that also?
Jun 10th 2011 4:37AM Yeah I totally agree with you, and I really hate the elitist attitude of some people in RDF.
Here is one of my experiences:
A few days ago, late at night it was only 3 of us online in the guild. We queued for Random Zul as 3 dps, to get some epix gear. Two of us was fresh lvl 85, and I was going with my alt, who wasn't much geared. We were not awesome, but all of us kept 10-12k dps. The healer and the tank we got for random started to compain and try to kick us, because they wanted to do timed run and they qualified us as 'non-appropriate'. Btw we were succesfull with timed until the tank DC-d during the dragonhawk boss, but they were still complaining.
I understand that if you are a raider, you prefer to do timed run, but I think if you queue with dungeon finder you cannot expect the other 3 people to want the same. I told them that we are not much geared, and I agree we are not ready for timed, but we would like to finish the instance for the gear. They were complaining, calling us bad names, trying to kick (and failing to see that we were together and I wont kick my guildmate except if he is really doing something wrong), etc., although the run was as smooth as you can wish for (except for one wipe because of the tank dc).
Jun 7th 2011 8:33AM I would love to see a forest as a memorial for all the tree druids before cataclysm. When you would walk in the forest, the trees would occasionally toss a regrowth or a rejuvenation on you.
Jun 7th 2011 4:35AM Just go with demonology, as a true warlock would do: toss in a dot or two to get the loot, lay back and relax until your demon kills stuff for you. Especially if you have gathering profession, you can easily pick flowers while waiting for the demon to do the job.
