Aug 7th 2010 9:56AM I have had about a bazillion reincarnations of this one since AQ.. But here's the ICC Version..
Now this is the story all about how
My spec got flipped, turned upside down
And I'd like to take a minute just sit right there
I'll tell you how I became the Feral Prince of Dire Bear
In West Plaguelands, born and raised
Healing in Tree Form is how i spent most of my days
Stacking Lifebloom and dancing real cool
And Swiftmending some tanks taking damage like a fool
When a couple of rogues were up to no good
Pulled extra mobs more than you normally should
I got in one little wipe and my group got scared
And said, "Your hearthin, respecin and tankin In Bear"
I whistled for my mount and when it came near
The licence plate said feral and had a dice in its ear
If anything i could say this mount was fast
But I thought now forget it, I'm hearthin to the Glades'
I pulled up to Moonglade about seven or eight
And yelled to the trainer "Yo Resto, smell you later"
Looked at my talent tree and was finally there
To go to ICC and tank in Bear
Jul 8th 2010 6:30AM @Reis; thanks.
All the attention on the idea of "Identity Fraud", "Employers Firing you over playing WoW".. people tend to forget that their are sick twisted individuals on the internet that really just need to know your name; and can prolly hunt you down for their own ends. Cyber-Stalking in our day of age is becoming a big issue for people all over the world; and can lead to some pretty horrific events if the persons involved are really just that twisted.
Jul 7th 2010 12:50PM Everyone who says that this is a good idea needs to stop and think a moment.
Let me tell ya story.
I came back to wow in BC with a friend. I've known her for years. So I came back to play the game and enjoy raiding with her. Well, as all things go, our guild was really friendly. It wasnt a secret what our names were all that stuff. - But knowing someones name and being a twisted person is all you need.
We shared that we were going out of town and wouldnt be raiding that week. The person took it upon themselves to track us down while we were in that city. And when you the persons name calling hotels and checking to see if guests are their is super easy, watch a movie happens all the time.
Well this very twisted person had an obsession with her. And while we were their, he took it upon himself to stalk her while we were their. And in the end he raped her. She has since left all social networking sites, deleted accounts across the board; mentally anguished over the thing, doesn't even own a phone anymore she's so freaked about it.
Even if people wont listen to those of us who had experiences with identity fraud and are kinda worried about this; things like this happen A LOT on the internet. It's scary. It's scared a friend of mine forever. She'll always be different because of it.
So I ask you all... whats in a name? Name + Socializing in game = scary things if the person behind it all is kinda twisted.
Supporting this is just one more step to make these horror stories that much easier for people. At least with Myspace/Facebook/Twitter you have the option of keeping that private (from what i know, not much of a socializer person so I will have to take that from what i've read on these comments). If its going to happen their should still be a way of Opting-Out; protecting one's privacy. Especially if you've had a horror story happen to you.
Jul 7th 2010 4:32AM I dont know if anyone else has brought this up; but the "Suggestion Forum" threat for the petition is a great idea.
I've recently had a bout with Identity Theft and I'm still recovering; and I dont like the idea of having the world to see my real information. In-game to people I know is fine; but everywhere else is redic.
It's basically saying "we're going to give the interwebs your personal information if you like it or not". And people who have had problems with that in the past isn't going to like it (me also).
If it comes down to this blatant lack of caring for our personal information; we should either have the ability to have a "Username" associated with our Real ID rather than showing our Full Name, or an option to disallow it completely.
Way for blizzard to disregard personal information and the safety of their users. GG Blizz.
Jun 22nd 2010 6:37PM On thinking bout this; back before ulduar didn't blizzard like do the whole "we promise less down time with patches and maintenance" thing; like i remember months in a row where servers weren't down every week and things actually went smooth for once...
Perhaps sending the blizz employee's to "Microsofts How-To Seminar on Releasing Software" was a bad idea, no?
Jun 22nd 2010 6:06PM So... Their's live errors inside Ruby Sanctum.. I thought it was closed till next week when it drops for Euro Servers? I R Confusled..
May 4th 2010 10:27AM So, besides the QQing about the PVP part, why hasn't anyone stopped and asked If this is what the Orphanage would want us to be doing with our orphans?
I mean, they should like make the little orphan die when you die, so everyone feels bad about it lol
May 4th 2010 10:15AM Hopefully you see this but I was intrigued that someone else besides me was interested in lingering lore behind these orphans.
Dornaa - Draenei :: Impressive shamanistic abilities
Salandria - Blood Elf :: Adopted by the Blood Knight Matriach [i dont know if this is still happening in game; but she used to comment about being taken in to be trained by them]
Dornaa - wants to be friends with a real dragon
Salandria - wants to own a dragon
Salandria, if she was to grow into a Blood Knight she would most likely replace Liadrin and become the Matriach, and her comment about wanting to own a dragon, combined with the subtle hint from Salandria's Silver Coin about wanting to be more powerful she could essentially become corrupted by the Burning Legion or even just evil and want to take on some power of her own. If this was to occur, of course, major advasaries would arise. And I'm sure that Dornaa, growing up as a "friend" in the same orphanage would make the choice to stand up to her. The typical wow-story of friends/siblings etc gathering arms against each other.
The speculation is of course, is only from what is provided with in the game, but it would make sense that Dornaa, a great shaman would befriend a Dragon Aspect, and at the same time Salandria would want to destroy or rule that aspect; or it could come to be more with the Burning Legion since both are commenting on it and could come to be rivalries their.
And you gotta love the Keepers of Time for their subtle hints about a child's future. Makes you wonder.
Too bad their really isnt any written lore on these two kids, I looked. :(
Apr 25th 2010 1:29AM I look at it like this; as long as its a buff and not a nerf/buff; since all the mastery talents are buffs its good. and everyone should be happy bout it.
Put it this way; if it was implimented RIGHT NOW in game; with icc.. it would be like this (for example)
over 50% mana -> dmg output incrased by mastery similar to being inside icc with the kings buff
under 50% mana-> dmg output normal like everywhere else.
As long as it works more fluidly and its not a decrease in dps for lower mana; arcane will still prolly be one of the better burst dmg dps specs for mages.
Apr 16th 2010 5:18AM The Steed really does look like Helly Pony Pegasus Edition ..
Though XT looks soo nice..
