Ask the Devs Round 8 answers your Firelands questions {WoW}

May 26th 2011 7:48AM I have to say, until reading comments on here today, I was convinced the neptulon story *was* finished. I had no idea that ozumat took him away at the end. I thought we killed the squid and saved neptulon...I shall have to pay more attention next time I'm in TotT.

Breakfast Topic: Is WoW inherently sexist? {WoW}

May 17th 2011 9:44AM I don't think there's an issue with sexism as such, but I think the art department needs a bit of a speaking to about the concept of sexual dimorphism. The difference between the models for male and female for some of the more 'alien' (or less human-like) races (e.g. Dranei, Orc, Night Elf) is ridiculous, to the point where the mechanics of procreation boggle the mind (I try not to think about this too much).

Worst offender has to be the Worgen though: I know this is fantasy, but just because you're a girl it doesn't mean you should be slimmer, slighter and have big eyes and curvy lashes.

Personally, I think Blizz should have made the 'wolf' form the same (or similar) for both male and female worgen.

The Queue: Slanderous words {WoW}

May 16th 2011 3:46PM Indeed no, the method of their creation has not (at least in my experience) made it across the pond.

As it happens I'm going camping this weekend. Previously our provisions were thus:

Beer, Red Meat, Fire.

Now I have added marshmallow and chocolate to the list. Alas the 'graham cracker' has also not made it over here (but at least now I know why Cinnamon Grahams are called Cinnamon Grahams - it was a total mystery to me before today: thanks The Queue and Wiki!) so I shall have to improvise with the goo delivery system.

Clearly you've never been to Dundee :) I went home after several years away and was taken aback by how wee everyone was (I'm not exactle muckle myself).

To extend your point though: why are the Scottish accents for dwarfs so woeful? There're more Scots in the US than there is in Scotland (apparently): surely they can find someone that doesn't sound like groundskeeper wullie/mel gibson.

Know Your Lore: The curse of the worgen and the Scythe of Elune, part two {WoW}

May 15th 2011 4:06PM Is there any part of the Velinde quest still in game, or has it been binned...?

Arcane Brilliance: On the 12th tier and the set bonuses thereof {WoW}

May 14th 2011 5:13PM They've done this a few times, at least for elemental shaman. Tier bonuses from one tier become glyphs or baseline in the next or shortly after that (2pc tier 9 springs to mind - now effectively the glyph of flame shock, as well as 2pc tier 10 - now the feedback talent).

So I wouldn't be surprised to see the arcane missiles on the move to be a talent, glyph or baseline if it works out well. Channelled spells on the move seems to be experimental flavour of the month: looking forward to seeing how it pans out!

Know Your Lore: The curse of the worgen and the Scythe of Elune, part one {WoW}

May 9th 2011 4:23AM Fantastic read!

The scythe of elune questline was probably one of my favourites from vanilla. It's certainly one that's stuck with me. I remember how epic the whole thing was, tracking someone from Astranaar to Ratchet and across the sea through Strangelthorn to Darkshire. It was such a long and involving questline - it makes me a little sad to think that this kind of quest doesn't really exist anymore. I also remember how excited I was to hear more of the story (in game!) but until cata everything kinda petered out in a cave in Duskwood.
