Jan 22nd 2011 10:29PM "WoW's a business; pretty sure it's never going to "end" until people are no longer playing it (i.e. - it's not making money). Why kill the golden goose?"
Ahh but remember this, WoW's engine is looking pretty old by todays standards, and while WoW is succesful as of this moment, what happens in a couple of years when a new MMO comes along with similar gameplay and a more modern graphics?
WoW is surviving right now because of its good writing, brilliant art style, intuitive gameplay structure, a dedicated fan-base (and even perhaps good old fashioned addiction) but we all know it can't last forever as is.
I know Graphics aren't more important than gameplay, but I believe in order for blizzard to keep a firm chokehold on the mmo market, WoW should effectively "end" in about 5 years with a final expansion to wrap up the storyline.
And then come out with a second Mmo, one thats been built new from the ground up the follows WoW's structure.
It could be a new IP, it could be more warcraft, and if a lack of stories are an issue, its blizz!
They can retcon anything.
Oct 13th 2010 12:33PM Deathwing: I came when I heard you beat the Lich King.
Aug 4th 2010 9:43AM NOOOO DAMMIT!
If we loved him so much why did we have to kill him over and over?!
May 30th 2010 5:06PM What happens when you RP is that its kinda like writing/reading a book, or playing mass effect (^_^).
Even though the characters aren't real, your imagination takes hold, and you really start to feel for the characters.
I tried to take up RP'ing once, I had done a HECK LOAD of research, looked up all about the proper etiquette of role playing, picked a seeming good server, got all the mods, wrote my story, created the story relevant items, and began my journey.
The only RP'ing taking place was this incredibly slow and hard ti understand story in the stormwind canals.
I really wanted to properly RP :(
May 30th 2010 4:17PM Crawlies do it for me too.
Not the crawlies exactly, the slitheries.
That giant snake tail/tentacle thing in gundrak?
1st time I saw it I popped sprint and got the hell outta there, ofc i pulled the next pack, vanished and watched the group die, but I made my apologies and calmly explained to them why I had to leave the group, didn't do gundrak for a while after that.
Also, Hakkar from ZG?
He scares the shit outta me.
My and my little brother were playing around half midnight and we thought we would try duo'ing him.
We started playing in BC so we had no idea bout the encounter.
We got to the the road where you could see him on his pyramid and I felt my heart drop into my lower intestine.
I tried to swallow my far but as we got closer he seemed to get bigger and bigger, my lil bro pulled him, I ran forward and just froze.
I then proceeded to path of frost my way back to the entrance, while my little brother's paladin died.
He was dps and I was tanking, he turned to me and I said "Fuck it, call a raid or im not doin it".
Feb 7th 2010 11:15AM So did this guy...
Are you saying your pic should have been picked over his?
That's awfully selfish of you.
Feb 4th 2010 8:00PM What is all this obsession with Felicia Day?
I think she's cute, but I wouldn't say she was hot to the point people are shouting in caps: "SHES HOT!" :)
Are people just 10x more attracted to her because she's a gamer?
Note: I know my oppionion doesn't reflect everyone's, just wondering.
Feb 4th 2010 7:41PM There is definitely some fishy business going on here.
Yes Blizz's private testing team are TERRIBLE, we've had problems on Anub, Yogg AND the Lich King, all fights un-testable to the public.
So yes, Blizz has dropped the ball here... AGAIN.
But, while a lot of the logs show that most of the bombs used hit enemy targets, there are quite a few reports of the rogues intentionally using bombs on the edge of the platform.
There aren't any worthwhile targets out there, and tanking the Lich King on the edge is asking for death. (Val'kyrs).
If the latter reports are true, then Ensidia is becoming increasingly prone to using dirty, underhanded tactics to get the upper hand in the competition.
I'm getting quite the Dick Dastardly feeling here.
Nyaaaahhhh! *Twiddles pointy mustache*
Feb 4th 2010 7:33PM Wow, they put in all that effort, just for freaking fun?
This guys instantly have my respect.
Without sponsors, it does take a mighty love for the game to put in that much effort.
And we Europeans got the boss a day later might I add. :D
