May 7th 2009 6:40PM Why did the author assume that the person asking the first question meant his guild? I get people all the time telling me I should change my spec to such-and-such spec, and it's not from guild members. Hello? It happens to people NOT in a guild either, you know. People I party with or PUG with will sit there and proceed to tell me how I should be playing toon, even if I am a level 80, and have found a spec that *I* like. It doesn't just happen in guilds.
Mar 24th 2009 1:28PM I'm a Meta/Ruin Lock, level 80, and I'm glad to see this article. I've been Demonology since level 1 (however I have tried out the other talent trees as well), and even though my gear sucks, I still out DPS any other Lock that's in the group (Affliction or Destruction). With that being said however, I would like some help with my gear. Armory lists my bonus spell damage at 1230, but when I was logged in with Felguard and Fel Armor it is at 2012. I have yet to see a 10k crit, though. Here's my armory link:
I would just like to know where I should be finding my gear (which H dungeons should I be farming...). I am working on my Kirin Tor rep, so I can get the nice Head enchant.
Jan 23rd 2009 7:02PM One BG I did on Alliance side on my level 19 twink rogue this last week, I had 9, yes 9, level 19 twink hunters, and me, the lonely rogue. No healers at all.
Who was the FC? Me...oh yes, the other hunters TRIED to carry the flag, but I had Sprint (Glyph of Sprint), Swiftness Potions, and I was able to Stealth and grab the flag. I did it three times, and we won (surprisingly), but no Ironman achievement, because I died a couple times in battle. Oh well.
But, it was QUITE amusing logging in and looking at the roster of 9 Hunters and 1 Rogue.
Jan 23rd 2009 6:53PM LOL ... I had to laugh at your level 12 BG comment. I get so mad when I see that. Last night, this level 13 Warrior(? I think) with about 404 HP kept complaining over BG chat that no one was helping him fight in the battlefield, and no one was helping him when he grabbed the flag. Well, you can't really do much "helping" when someone only has 404 HP. And yes, people were helping him when he had the flag, unfortunately, he dies easily. We were all trying to tell him what was going on, and to come back when he leveled up some more, etc., but he just didn't get it, and kept asking "Why?" a lot. It was annoying.
I have a level 19 twink rogue, and I'm in the process of twinking out a level 19 priest, and a level 19 hunter. Why? Well, because I've grown to enjoy WSG now that I have a twink. When I went into BGs about a year and a half ago, I hated the idea of twinks, and went in to do BGs as a regular toon (level 18-19, level 28-29, mind you). I absolutely HATED it, because I thought I was no good, I kept dying, and I felt so useless. People would complain that I wasn't doing anything useful, etc., and it made me feel like crap. I was pretty well-geared for a regular toon, but I definitely wasn't a twink. So, I never did any BGs after that. But having a twink, I feel (for me) the playing field is pretty level. I'm not saying EVERYONE in the level 19 WSG BG is a twink, but the majority of them are. If I come in as the ONLY twink on my side, I hear "Yay! A flag runner!" or "Alright, a twink!" etc. Having a twink lets me focus more on the battle and fighting the enemy and learning my skills and abilities rather than thinking "OMG, I need a potion" or "OMG he's got 2k health, WTF!" and just wanting to run away. If I'm get attacked, I can turn around and fight back and learn how to fight well in PvP (I'm on a PvE server). I really don't feel like being a twink give me an unfair advantage, I feel like it's leveling the field for me. I know that sounds stupid, but really, I'm sure other twinks can agree.
PS: Last night, I saw a level 19 Orc Hunter who had about 2901 Health Points. LOL...
Jan 14th 2009 7:32PM How come in your statistics in the WoWarmory it says creatures killed 5659, most are Humanoid, and critters killed 177? It's under "Kills". I thought you leveled by not killing anything?
