Mar 5th 2012 11:46AM I'm sorry I just can't disagree more with you loop. When cata dropped and the healing changes were in full effect I myself gave up healing. I know I'm 1 person but there are more of people like me than most would like to admit.
Now that gear has allowed us to have near infinite mana again, heals are hitting harder, and our spells are going out faster (haste scaling), I have picked up healing again on my Paladin, Druid, and Priest again. So that is 1 more healer in 21 dungeons a week. Before gear allowed it to be like it is, that was 1 more dps waiting in que for 21 dungeons a week.
Do you see what I'm saying? if 10% of healers quit healing because they didn't like the healing model then that's 10% more dps taking up slots in the que system.
Zach has it spot on though. I DID heal in T11 raids but refused to heal heroics back then.
Mar 5th 2012 8:24AM I don't miss 45 minute dps ques. Keep it the same
Dec 13th 2011 8:09AM I listen to wow themed podcasts unless i'm raiding. In which case I listen to vent ;p
Nov 3rd 2011 9:34AM The last two times I took a 3 month break from wow I just logged off as normal saying "nite" to everyone and then not logging in again until I felt it was time to come back. Some people are surprised at the return other just go about their business as usual. I think that's when you know who your real efriends are...
Although the idea of faction/server/name changing is appealing for a fresh start....
Oct 19th 2011 2:31PM Is there an addon out there that will help you go to all the inns you have no trick or treated at (post achievement years) so that I can stockpile my candies to buy the new pets/masks? Normally I just look at the achievement requirements to find where I need to go and really think having to get out a piece of paper is.... silly?
Oct 16th 2011 8:35AM Quite the opposite. I dos guild runs and heal randoms. If I mess up in a guild group that lasts. Another random group is a few minutes away in the Que.
Oct 13th 2011 1:47PM Healing is bananas B A N A N A S
Feb 24th 2011 5:53PM /sarcasm
Because being obsolete keeps millions of people from running it every year
Feb 21st 2011 5:30PM I sit in mostly 5man heroic gear with a few raid pieces sprinkled in. I have about 13.5% haste, 12% crit. I play holy.
Since the patch I haven't had to adjust at all (in raids). Unlike the people that respec'd to take advantage of holy shield spam, I never changed the way I played. In all honesty, the only time I shield as Holy is to throw a shield on the tank from time to time to give our pally a breather (or me if i'm tank healing as holy) or if a raid member isn't moving fast enough out of stuff and i hook them up with a speed boost.
Feb 21st 2011 9:30AM This problem seems very close to what I'm running into with my guild. I was one of the first 85s and one of the first people to start clearing heroics. When time came to raid I was also one of the first people in the guild to be "ready to raid". I play a priest and was shadow. I was almost always first or second on the DPS charts.
As more and more people started to get geared I started feeling pressure from the guild to go heals. I felt upset at this because i felt I was performing well enough to warrant my DPS spot. However, as more time got by I felt pushed out of my DPS spot. There was talk about recruiting from outside sources to fill healing roles and some people would be moved to team B (which has still to this day not downed a boss). I geared my priest for heals and can hold my own now in either tank or raid healing.
This week I logged on at our designated raid time and Group A was already 3 bosses in.
I feel like the guild is moving in a direction that doesn't suit my wants or needs. Should I leave or should I wait it out until Group B gets better as I feel that's where I'm destined to be.....
Group B was mostly consisting of Group A alts and people did not seem to be putting as much effort into it because of the "alt mentality"
