Shifting Perspectives: Broken things that aren't, page 2 {WoW}

Dec 3rd 2010 8:11PM If only I could convince people to start using semicolons more frequently, the world would be a better place; they are so much more easy on the eyes than dashes.

Lil' Ragnaros and Moonkin Hatchlings now available at the pet store {WoW}

Nov 30th 2010 10:18AM I don't suppose you've noticed, but the cash store pets are a much higher quality than pets put ingame. They have a higher poly count, more detailed texture, and at least one unique animations which had to be custom made for the pet.

Blizzard spent an extra special amount of development time on each of these pets, in ways they would not normally spend on making a anniversary pet. The reason they spend the extra development time, is so that lots of people buy them, and they can put that money back into paying more employees to improve the game.

It's all a circle, which all comes back to benefiting the players, even if you don't buy the pet yourself.

WoW Moviewatch: Staghorn Gets a Pat Down {WoW}

Nov 27th 2010 11:08AM "Or, if it was an effeminate gay getting the pat down and then punching the straight guy."

I'm not going to lie. That would have been fucking hilarious.

The Queue: Cathedral picture {WoW}

Oct 17th 2010 1:05PM Yes, Blizzard is immensely proud of their strategy in WotLK.

In Vanilla and BC, it was generally problematic if you had an alt, or were a player who did not start playing at the start of the expansion, and if you got behind and missed the first tier, you would generally find it impossible to catch back up and see the final dungeon.

Blizzard felt this was a bad thing, and from now on, you can more or less go straight to the current raid content as soon as hitting 80, no matter which tier they are on.

(To some extent, this almost seems to make the concept of tiers a little silly :P)

MMO Roundup: Last week on Massively {WoW}

Sep 22nd 2010 7:16AM Meatdraw, don't be so quick to dismiss it. Remember it was a Beta. Most of the problems were all fixed for the launch. Poke your nose around some of the forums. Hardware cursor, nonexistant UI lag, game doesn't lose your quests if you DC, your hotbar doesn't change when you change classes, etc etc.

All the "broken" aspects of it seem to be fixed now that the game has launched. In fact, I'd dare say this is the smoothest launch of any MMO I've ever seen, including WoW (which was anything but smooth).

Definitely worth considering since all the technical bullshit has apparently been fixed.

Guild chat coming to the Mobile Armory app {WoW}

Sep 21st 2010 2:35PM I'm definitely not rejecting this idea. Very cool.

Breakfast Topic: The other kind of hybrids {WoW}

May 10th 2010 9:18AM Not all of them are major lore characters, like Garona, Rexxar, Alodi, and Med'an, but rather simply ones which are noted to exist.

For example, the Night Elf / Eredar combination is from rape during the War of the Ancients. Night Elf / Troll is also a rape combination that produced children.

Scattered Shots: The misunderstood hunter abilities {WoW}

Jan 25th 2010 1:19PM I know as a tank, I don't mistake when a pet has taunt on. I don't respond to the pet pulling aggro, cause I know it's easy for them to pull at low levels.

I respond to the taunt animation: Three little red tickmarks above a mobs head.

As a general rule though, having played both a hunter and a tank... I found that at low levels, a pets survivability is better, though not quite as good of threat.

The only way a pet would be pulling aggro is if the tank is focusing on AOE tanking, while the pet is just sitting on one mob. If the tank gets upset about your pet pulling aggro, make them learn to put down at least a skull, and if your pet pulls aggro off of skull, it's purely the tank's fault.
