Why is Blizzard still OK with gender inequality in World of Warcraft? {WoW}

It's a pretty safe bet to say that yawnatyou is a male. The comment reeks of male privilege. (So does yours, by the by.)

Apr 3rd 2012 4:31PM You don't have an issue with it and that's great. Just remember that not everyone shares your viewpoint. This is something worthy of discussion, though. Try not to dismiss it as being "QQ about nothing".

Apr 3rd 2012 4:24PM I know it's possible to reinforce positive body image or deliver a compliment without being creepy. My point was that the person who wrote this dialogue probably didn't realize that it would come across as creepy. That's why I mentioned lack of awareness and best intentions gone awry.

Apr 3rd 2012 4:08PM Here's a different look at Ji Firepaw's dialogue for females:

Pandaren females are a bit on the chubby side... Compared to other races, that is. Pandaren females look the most normal looking in terms of body weight. Anywho, it's possible that the dialogue is there because the person who wrote it thought they were reinforcing the idea that it's okay for female Pandaren to not be anorexic. Perhaps a case of good intentions without sufficient awareness.

Ghostcrawler explains spec-specific quest rewards in MoP {WoW}

Mar 30th 2012 1:48AM That's an awful thing to have happen, because then you'll have to switch specs just to see other gear sets. Tri-spec classes would have to go pay for a respec just to see what's on the vendor! Awful awful awful.

Mar 30th 2012 1:46AM Questing 1-60, you might find a set design that comes in blue (agi), white (int), or brown(str). Variety!

As far as I can tell, there is no difference between quest sets in Mists. You get an int chest piece that will look the same as your str chest piece with no color variety.

Blue Posts: Ghostcrawler returns saying no to warlock tanking spec {WoW}

Mar 26th 2012 11:11PM Yeah! Burn Ghostcrawler at the stake! How dare he squash our hasty assumptions that we'd get a glyph to play as a caster tank in cloth gear! How dare we be demoted from main tanking to off-off-tanking! Even though we didn't really have any indications of defensive cooldowns, being able to taunt effectively, or anything to generate a substantial amount of threat! IT'S ALL HIS FAULT WE CAN'T ASSUME TO HAVE NICE THINGS.

BURN HIM AT THE STAKE, I SAY!

Breakfast Topic: Will your pandaren fit into your character naming convention? {WoW}

Mar 24th 2012 8:52AM My pandaren will probably fit the mold. I'm hoping for either Pundaren or Pandaring. I like pun names. Maybe I'll go with "Shanksy" for my pandaren rogue!
