Oct 21st 2011 11:45AM For eel5pe:
The easiest way is to check your map for flight paths (get an add-on like Mapster which allows you to view the map without a fog for un-visited areas) and visit all the FPs you can. Yes, there's a lot of new treat pumpkins that aren't on the achieve list; usually they're right off the flight paths.
Except for that one in Vash'jir in the Shimmering Expanse. That one was a pain to get back to.
Oct 21st 2011 12:20AM Question for the Queue:
For the Hallow's End Event, there's a Flying Broom that drops from the Loot Pumpkin or the quests to put out the fires; this broom has a duration of only 14 days, the length of Hallows and vanishes at the end. The Tricky Treats vendors, though, sell a "Magic Broom", which doesn't seem to have a duration, though it can only be used during Hallows. Are these the same thing? Will the Magic Broom disappear at the end of Hallows, or will it stay in your Mount inventory (and just be unusable for the rest of the year) and count towards the Mount achieves? 150 Tricky Treats seems an awful lot to spend on a temporary broom, after all.
Oct 18th 2011 10:33AM Hey, WoWInsider? Your links for the Helm and Sword don't work. They return "This item has been removed from the game".
Oct 17th 2011 9:40AM For the Big Bad behind Deathwing, sorry. You KNOW it's Brann Bronzebeard. He's already behind Magni's death and trying to unleash various Titan Tech to destroy our world. He's just testing us adventurers to see how gullible we are to make us his fall-guys.
But the next faction leader offed? I'm praying it's Garrosh (after running TOC again, I'm really really praying it's Garrosh -- dear Horde, I love you like any good honorable enemy, but WHY did you go with someone THIS STUPID?). But it's time for the Alliance to have a major player taken out -- Varian, thy days are likely numbered.
Oct 16th 2011 12:56PM I run a pally tank. Due to health issues, I've been behind the curve a ways in gearing, AND after seeing fellow guildies badmouth all the tanks they've run across in PUGs, I refused to run heroics and PUGs for a long while (and let those guildies know why I wouldn't run with them -- you badmouth someone's mistakes like that, what are you saying behind MY back??).
I've started in again, and have been running PUGs on regular; I listen to healers, I don't GOGOGO, I have patience with just-learning-new-spec folks, and I try to pace the run to the group. I'm happy to say that last night was the first time I ran into problems with any of the DPS, a couple hunters in succession that insisted on pulling mobs before we were ready -- or in the middle of another fight, when the healer was running OOM.
The first one got a warning: "Tank pulls. If you pull again, I'll kick." And I followed thru when he did it again, and the kick passed. The replacement also pulled without us being ready, and also got the warning (along with "we kicked the last guy for doing that"). That settled him down.
Sometimes it's just a matter of sending the message "we won't tolerate this". Though I still won't run heroics on PUGs or Guild groups, because the few times I *have*, those heroics have been incredibly unforgiving and un-fun, and the player base snark goes up accordingly.
Oct 16th 2011 12:41PM THIS THIS THIS!!!
I loved the Zombie invasion. I loved the Elemental attacks. It's time WoW started giving us personal reasons to get involved with the storylines -- that the enemies are attacking US and making OUR LIVES worse. Please Blizz, oh PLEASE, let DW attack the cities. PLEASE.
Oct 3rd 2011 8:58AM You only have to encounter a *bad* crafting interface in another game to know how good WoW's is -- for that "other game", let's just say "carpal tunnel syndrome" and leave it at that.
Anyway, thoughts to improve crafting:
1. Change the animation for each craft! Good lord, each craft -- no matter how small -- gets the same bent-over-rubbing-hands animation. Let's see the BS's actually swing a hammer, the enchanter's hands glow & spark, the alchies pull out a chemistry set, the engineers go "BOOM" and get flung waaay up in the air from time to time!
2. Incorporate low level mats & items into the high level recipes. Eng used to do this a bit with the goggle-helms; more crafts need to. You want the Big Purple Crafted Epic? You need to have the blue & green versions below it as part of the recipe. You also need low-level mats in the recipe, along with the high level ones.
This lets new & low-level crafters actually contribute to the game. Another game I played did this, and our guild valued our lowbie members right along with the high-levels because of that -- the lowbies could contribute to the well-being of the guild right from the start, instead of just being made to feel like tagalongs until they reached whatever high level the rest of us were at.
3. Crafted items should be better or at least equivalent to drops in the game, especially for tailoring & BS'ing & lw'ing. What's the point of me crafting anything if the drops I get are gonna make it obsolete the next hour?
Sep 28th 2011 4:03PM Those dwarves must've been waaaaaay past drunk and out the other side, if they saw King Magni walking around...
Sep 26th 2011 1:34PM MAGNI IS NOT DEAD!!! He's just...stoned...
Sep 25th 2011 9:29PM My paladin has been wearing dark, dreary, UGLY gear since BC. Very rarely has any piece ever looked like it was meant for a "paladin"; between tier gear and raid drops, I've felt like I'm getting forced into looking "evil".
A paladin is a holy warrior of the Light. She's spent most of this expansion looking like this: http://i24.photobucket.com/albums/c29/zenfrodo/Screenshot2011-09-25at91914PM.png Rep gear, badge gear, heroic & raid drops. This is my current raiding set. Dull, dark, bleh.
What SHOULD she look like?
THIS!! http://i24.photobucket.com/albums/c29/zenfrodo/Screenshot2011-09-25at92129PM.png (chestpiece in progress - it's gonna be replaced by the Lawbringer T1 chest. Set is a combo of Lawbringer, Lightbringer, Shattered Sun and Conquerer's plate. I'm still not set on the weapon -- I'm hoarding the Terror Tankard JUST IN CASE I get a good tank mace from raiding.
I mean, pallys are pallys, yup, but we're talking a DWARF, too, here.
