May 14th 2010 2:34PM Nibelung is one of the best staves in game right now for Moonkin, since moonkin scale so poorly with both haste and crit at ICC gear levels. The only staff whose stats are high enough to overpower the proc is Archus, Greatstaff of Antonidas, mostly because of the extra spellpower in addition to the +haste and +crit. And, since every dps caster is drooling to get that staff, I'll happily go along with my Val'kyr guardians Smiting my enemies alongside me :-D
Mar 9th 2010 3:35PM Blizzard stated at the start of WotLK, and has been evidenced by the way the talent tree has been made, that the Feral tree is *supposed* to have 2 very different and conflicting specs based on their desired main role (tank or dps). Its not that they can't dps in a Bear spec, but that there is a distinct disadvantage to doing so. This is similar to other hybrid classes/specs, most notably DK's, who can dps or tank in any tree, but there are optimal specs for each role in each tree. The Mastery-enhanced stat for Feral is going to be very interesting, I think. I expect the first two to be % damage and health, and %crit (since both kitties and bears adore crit). Perhaps increasing the effects of your current form by x%? i.e., increased ap/energy regen for cats, and armor/stam for bears?
Feb 12th 2009 5:25PM I understand the QQ about leveling and being max level for dual spec blah blah blah, but before spouting off you really need to think a bit.
This is mostly for hybrids who have to respec *daily*, sometimes several times a day, in order to fulfill seperate roles at the end-game. I have never seen a group before end-game content that is gimped because a tank/heal is not talented in those trees. Some of my favorite pre-80 tanks were arms warriors and ret pallies. I've seen groups gimped by bad dps 10x more often than a tank not holding aggro or a healer chain casting their biggest heal. Also, if you learn how to heal/tank without any talents at all, it will only be that much easier to take on those roles at end-game when you do have the talents. I know some people don't care about end-game, in which case, you will learn your class better as a whole, which will increase you survivability while leveling and, ultimately, your enjoyment of the game.
