Jan 8th 2011 8:07AM I've had awfully bad luck with gear drops in Cata, so bad it's getting silly. On the other hand, I won the Drake of the North Wind first time I set foot in The Vortex Pinnacle with a 99 roll.
Other mounts like ZG mounts, White Hawk Strider etc was just a grind. Killed Kael 27 times I think. Have the same grind going on with Anzu and also Skadi atm...
Dec 6th 2010 9:24AM I'm a bit disappointed at the loot from the new fishing dailies. Would have been fun if they added something new or maybe at least made it possible to get the small crocodile pets you could get from the TBC fishing dailies.
Oct 7th 2010 8:35AM I solo stuff, mostly old raids, with my hunter main. If it is for mounts, achievements or simply getting some gold and drops doesn't matter, the main inspiration is to have the amount of time to actually figure out and test how to kill stuff which wasn't designed to be killed by a lone huntard and his trusty pet. Before Cata hits I think that's really the best way to spend a weekend full of WoW
Oct 4th 2010 10:10AM Come to think of it, It will be fun to see what level of hp you and your pet will reach in some decent solo gear in Cata. Currently, me and my pet sport around 32k and 33k respectively fully buffed and in survivability gear (rather than mix of survive and dps gear). Say 100k plus 80k is enough to afk ZG when farming mounts... oh wait.
Oct 4th 2010 9:31AM So, it might be worth a try to solo some TBC content once I ding 85 to get to pieces of T5? Or maybe the T5 is still necessary to do so and I'll be stuck in a catch 22 limbo of hunter soloing?
Btw, I have found the improved mend pet talent in the BM tree quite valuable as it removes most diseases, curses, magic effects and poisons from the pet. And this is in Cata a second tier talent in the BM tree (I do wish that it removed bleed effects too so I wouldn't need to kite Buru...).
Oct 4th 2010 8:29AM I've tried to die by Hogger just for the sake of it (Deaths by Hogger has its own row in the statistics tab). But at 80 and naked, the passive regeneration of health for a troll seems to be higher than what Hogger hits for, when he actually hit. So, no death by Hogger.
However, misjudging the timing for parachute cloak and falling to my death after q5 seconds, or realizing after dismounting that I'm in tanking gear without my parachute cloak is definitely the most common way to end a otherwise happy ore farming tour.
Jun 21st 2010 9:56AM Finally getting the last part of "What a long strange tip..." and my 310% Violet Proto Drake, which will also be my 100th mount. Nice irony there with mount rewards and what mount to use...
Jun 1st 2010 4:47AM Another great place to farm mammoth meat is in Sholazar Basin, east of the Glimmering Pillar. According to wowhead, the chunk of mammoth has a 93% drop rate from those mobs. Often, they even drop two chunks. Though the mobs are a higher level than in Borean Tundra, most classes should be able to burn them them in a matter of seconds at these current gear levels.
May 27th 2010 8:10AM Healing! After playing wow for almost three years I decided to do something else than dps or tanking. So I created a shaman and started to level as a healer in random dungeons. Now I can't stop LFR. I haven't logged on to my hunter main or warrior and DK alts in several days, even my banker toon gets less love now that I found out how fun healing is. While I didn't expect it to be awful to heal, I never thought it would be so fun :)
