Guildwatch: "ur name is remembered" {WoW}
Aug 27th 2009 4:09PM I'm not from this guild, but I'm on their server, huge grats to Edge (A) on Garona-US on their Realm First: Death's Demise and our server's only Mimiron head!
25-man gear should not be better than 10-man gear {WoW}
Mar 31st 2009 11:12PM Next WoW expansion: all raids are now 10-man raids, and you get two raid IDs per week.
Yeah, no.
The Queue: Casinos? In my WoW? {WoW}
Mar 30th 2009 1:49PM Has anyone leveled 30-60 solely on grinding whelplings (as they drop lucrative vanity pets)? I was thinking about trying it on my alt. Could be a chore, but it could end up being profitable.
Ready Check: Ulduar and Burnout {WoW}
Mar 29th 2009 7:16PM PVP doesn't have to be perfect. It's a hell of a lot of fun to romp through Strand of the Ancients and watch as helpless new 80's throw themselves onto your sword. If I wanted to unwind from raiding I would stay out of the arenas, where class balance really matters.

Mar 29th 2009 1:55PM -Thunderfury! (looks funny for a blood elf to have)
-The Paladin T2 look-alike from the invasion goes great with the Hammer of the Naaru (with a blue glowing +damage enchant)
....And an entire bank full of old tier gear, and stuff that I got while I was solofarming MC for Thunderfury
Forum post of the day: Tick Tock {WoW}
Feb 2nd 2009 2:35PM I also do this to some extent! I used to not be able to play a character unless it was named after a raidboss (Fankriss, Malande), but now I use my main character (Brutalicus) as the basis for my alts (Metalicus, his... female cousin or something, and Mortalicus, who is just my main post-death as a DK).

Feb 2nd 2009 2:32PM I bubble-hearth whenever someone /licks me in Orgrimmar! It scares me, I don't know where those Orc hunters have been!
Officers' Quarters: Dressed down {WoW}
Feb 2nd 2009 2:22PM As a pretty serious raider myself, I see valid points flying around from a couple angles.
The first perspective we can look at this from is that of the less-serious but not "casual" casual guild officer: He was right to discipline his player no matter how good he was. The other players need to see that they all need to do their best to help the guild succeed, and you don't want them to follow that guy's lead and mess up the raid. Think of it this way: raid with 25 people and wipe on a boss. Then put a flask and food buff on every single player and watch how your group uses the same tactics and gear and totally wtfpwns the boss. If a couple more people goofed off, you would have wiped to Loatheb. (grats on the Naxx clear btw :P)
The way *I* see it however, is it's totally fine to goof off in raids, in my opinion, but ONLY if it's extremely trivial for your group. In my case, my guild slams their faces on their keyboards and one-shots Naxx 10 pretty easily in most cases. To mix it up I (a darn well-geared Paladin tank) hold contests with myself to see how many stacks of a Four Horseman debuff I can accumulate and survive, or how many Frogger slimes I can survive with my bubble-wall up. My group laughs right along with me; I guess I try to keep it fun(ny) for them too. If there's any danger of causing someone else a repair bill, I don't do it. But if it's offbeat, chances are I've tried it.
In summary, for fellow officers out there wondering who is right, it depends on your guild and the setting. IMHO, Xonate, you did the right thing and didn't allow sloppy behavior to propagate in your 25-man team.
