Breakfast Topic: A crowning moment of noobishness {WoW}

Sep 11th 2010 10:11PM I'm not sure how this qualifies - epic fail or win but I believe its worth sharing anyway :D

So this other day (just pre TBC if I recall correctly) a lot of servers were down and so for some reason my entire guild decided to go to one of the realms which were online and make a lvl1 gnome to raid hogger.

Oh boy, was it fun. We ended up with about 30 lvl 1 gnomes and ran all the way to Hogger only to find him killed... We then embarked on an epic journey to westfall, where we met a lvl 30ish tauren druid ganking lowbies.... You can probably imagine his surprise when he got jumped by so many noams ;DD

Blizzard to break the AVR mod in Patch 3.3.5 {WoW}

May 21st 2010 9:29AM I see some people are confused about this. Let's not forget that there are 2 parts to the AVR mod, there is the base AVR - which allows you to draw stuff, and share it with others but there is also AVRE (AVR Encounters) which is basically a boss-mod sort of addition to the basic AVR.

AVRE doesn't require any sort of "player input" or drawing, it will mark different areas of particular importance during boss fights automaticaly. In my opinion this - AVRE - doesn't help you play the game, it does it for you and if you want something to play the game instead of you, just don't play at all.

I saw some people arguing that AVR does not help you much more than DBM does, which I believe isn't true. DBM and other sorts of boss-mods tell you the cooldowns of spells, who's the spell being used on etc etc, but they still leave out a lot of space for individual reaction. AVR(E) literally shows you where to stand not to be hit or w/e which is a decision you should be making yourself.

It could be argued that this is a great tool for more casual guilds, or people who are having a hard time cracking tactics on the harder bosses. However Blizzard is already making huge steps to help those players see the whole content (separate hard modes, the ICC damage/hp/healing buff).

My GM asked all of us to get this addon, and it helped us to get through Putri 25m HC, but let me tell you one thing - when I saw how this addon works, I was not proud at all when we finally got the kill. Why you ask? It's like I said before. AVR(E) simply tells you how to do the hardest and trickiest parts of the fight, which removes the challenge almost entirely.

I'm glad they're breaking it.
/thumbs up for Blizz

Breakfast topic: Quest detritus {WoW}

Feb 18th 2010 3:45AM Wanted: "Hogger"

Breakfast Topic: I love {WoW}

Sep 14th 2009 9:02AM I love the way we are being treated by Blizzard - server lags preventing any kind of proper attempt on raid encounters, "Additional instances cannot be launched...", and content making less and less snese...

Not.

Breakfast Topic: Heirloom excitement {WoW}

May 27th 2009 10:51AM More heirlooms plox.

The disappearance (maybe) of faction pride {WoW}

May 21st 2009 9:50PM This is so damn true. As I was reading this article, and got to the "... Various reasons are this feeling are offered, from the lack of a strong Alliance-side leader..." part, the first of my thoughts was Jaina.

She has been a major character in at least-as-many situations as Thrall, if not more (include Her as witnessing Arthas genecide on Stratholme, as well as seeing him descent into darkness) - my point being, there is plenty of stuff she's been involved in.

I really regret the fact that blizzard didn't yet give her a more powerfull position in the Alliance ranks. But then, she's always been the kind of get-it-done-quietly persona.

Jaina FTW.

Update: Is Blizzard prepping Polish and Italian versions of WoW? {WoW}

May 18th 2009 8:11PM Seeing as some Polish people are concerned about loosing all the good people to polish realms, I personaly don't see that happening.

I am Polish myself, and let me tell you I would NEVER go and play on Polish servers, even if I was given 1 year gift card with it. And I'm serious.

This is basically because most Polish people playing WoW are in the age group of 12-16 aka 7-9 on mental level. The older/more serious people stay low profile, because of the bad rep the rest of Polish subscribers create.

Seriously, create a char on any of the most popular EU servers (e.g. Burning Legion) and you will see what I mean by creating bad image.

Besides having all the spell names and stuff translated directly into Polish would be ridiculous, and hillarious at the same time :P.

That being said, I will gladly see all the kids moving to Polish realms giving the more competent/serious players some space instead of asking whether agility is any good for priests. -_-

Breakfast Topic: Will you be chasing BlizzCon tickets? {WoW}

May 16th 2009 11:03PM I seriously wish I could afford it :(. The tickets might not be a problem (costs), but getting from Ireland to America is freakin pain + extremely expensive. ;(

UPDATE: Blood of Gladiators Loot Card EU giveaway {WoW}

Apr 15th 2009 8:48AM Wow :> (The amazing one, not the game). EU loot cards, thats a first ;D.!

Something to cheer us up while waiting for servers to go up, and something to get my mind off the plans for killing my ISP (For the lack of love over last 2 weeks).

Lets hope to see more of EU love in the future!

Peace

Back to the Horde {WoW}

Feb 2nd 2009 12:12PM Id really play a horde gladly. If only I could transfer my 80 DK/Priest to horde side.

I dont really know why.

I just love Night Elves, but there is something seriously wrong with them. Even though I enjoy just looking at my toon cause She looks nice, it doesnt compensate for the rest of it.

In all fairness it also comes down to the fact that on my server Alliance just sucks badly (Jaedenar EU), and that IS a fact.
Unless You have top-end game friends there is verly slim chance (if at all) of getting a decent HC run.
Not to mention Healer+Tank shortage.

I think i got slightly off topic for a sec,
anyways the lore behind horde seems to be more vivd - to me, at least.
All the battles they have been through and still they own :>.

I really regret You cant transfer Ally-Horde :(.
