Feb 5th 2009 9:10PM The maths that explains the how 20% is better than 30% is the maths that says 'take both'. Where are you spending your points? If you're taking non-DPS utility talents then that's fine but if that's the case, you perhaps can't complain about sub-optimal DPS. I also perhaps wouldn't spec around bad trash pulls in 5 mans. Our trash DPS is never great anyway, not least due to a fairly long rotation that doesn't work on quick to die mobs. We shine against one target - on boss fights. It's not worth gimping yourself in the area we excel in and where you're most useful to the group in order to do a tiny bit better in an area we suck at anyway.

Feb 5th 2009 8:52AM Why is it wrong that muti outdamages combat? I remember reading that Blizzard wanted to make the specs that were harder to play do more damage if played properly - muti's got a more complex rotation than combat. Combat WAS the raid spec, but there's nothing wrong with have two raid viable DPS specs. The optimum combat and muti specs are about equal, so perhaps the rogues that are beating you are just better? Hit rating isn't the be all and end all of rogue stats, as you've seemingly implied.
