The math behind random drops and rolls {WoW}

Apr 8th 2009 8:42AM Heh... One day I'd like to petition a GM and ask how many kills of Thekal in ZG my Rogue has been involved in. I've been trying to get the Tiger mount since I first stepped into it with a full raid in Vanilla WoW. My husband and I have duo-ed it every single reset timer since we turned lvl80. I've still never, EVER seen one drop - or a Raptor mount, for that matter (we do both).

RNG is really beginning to $#*& me off when I see DKs riding around on the ZG mounts, knowing that they've only existed for a few months, and my main character has been after that mount for THREE YEARS now.

I'm starting to give up hope, but still, every reset timer, I get on my main and drag my husband into ZG with me...

Progressive drop rates {WoW}

Mar 30th 2009 10:47PM Can they please implement this for things like the ZG Tiger? I've been going to the place for 3 YEARS and counting (from raiding it as a lvl60 instance at lvl60, to going in whenever I could get a group at 70, to 2-manning the place every single reset since I hit lvl80) and never even seeing it drop, is getting very old... and yet I'm seeing recently made DKs happily riding it. >:(

Forum post of the day: Raid timers (poll) {WoW}

Feb 7th 2009 10:38PM I think the raid timers are fine the way they are - they give the more casual guilds enough time to clear a dungeon (we do Naxx10 over the course of 3 days for example) and keeps the more hardcore guilds from so far outgearing/out-content-ing (if that's not a word, it is now! :P ) everyone else. IMHO the raid timers are fine.

What ISN'T fair is the way you can get saved to a week-long raid by some noob that goes in first and saves everyone else who was expecting a fresh raid and some loot, to a cleared raid. The week-long raid timers aren't the problem, it's the complete lack of knowledge whether the raid is empty or not, until you're on the other side of the portal, by which point it is too late!

There must be some way of confirming "This raid already has X, Y, Z bosses cleared. You will be saved to this instance upon entering. Do you wish to enter? Y/N" or seeing if someone else in the group is already saved, or just something to inform us BEFORE we hop into that portal, so we don't end up cursing up a frustrated storm on the other side of it.
