Oct 31st 2009 2:40PM I wonder how this system will work out, for my enhancement shaman i was forced to wear leather after dinging 80 just because mail gear wouldn't drop (and epic 80 rogue gear beats blue 76 shaman gear any day imo). This was also a issue for my druid who was offspecced balance (about 70% of his gear was cloth).
Also, will this apply to weapons not fitting to our class/specc? (ie. will a shaman be able to roll on a 2h axe, or will a druid be able to roll on fist weapons?)
It seems that blizzard have forgot that a lot of us actually use gear with a lower armor type (and i guess the developers know that or we would only have one (only leather for druids and only plate for paladins)).
Oct 29th 2009 8:59PM Hmm, sorry about using noob instead of newb^^ Guess that's what happens when you reply to posts in the middle of the night.
Well, it made me learn more about every aspect of pvp so that i could outsmart my opponenet, but that might just be me. Granted, i don't pvp but there is few things more satisfying than beating a opponenet that tried to jump you (especially if that person is higher leveled/better geared than you). Some of us also find it unrealistic to fight on a pve server as we can't attack (or be attacked by) our eneemy.
I guess if you just want to fight in a predictible anviroment where you control nearly all variables you might not like a pvp server, but it's a lot more exciting (and at times annoying if someone decide to camp).
Oct 29th 2009 8:19PM Ah, pvping as a noob. I remember entering wg on my rogue (now deleted and forgotten) with absolutely no idea what i was doing, i ran around as a headless chicken whacing random players with autoattacks.
Also, if you want to learn how to avoid getting killed i suggest leveling on a pvp server, you'll be forced to learn how to survive a pvp encounter (and you can give the other side what's coming to them after you learn, thus you'll help teach newer players). It'll also add a bit of realism to the game.
I'd also like to thank all the alliance players on Deathwing (eu) for ganking me when i was leveling, you made me a better player.
Oct 29th 2009 4:18PM What if this system gave enchanters a small profit from disenchanting in groups, that way enchanters would actually WANT to de.
Dust and essence de's could spawn a additional dust/essence that'd go straight into the pocket of the disenchanter and shards/crystal could spawn a mini shard/crystal that could be combined to form the whole thing (say 8 abyss crystal shards would become a single abyss crystal). If there was more than one enchanter in the group it could alternate who got the bonus mats.
Oct 24th 2009 9:24PM For the first time since my mage dinged 80 (waay back in december 2008) i'm thinking of playing him again. Frost was always my favourite build with arcane in a close second and fire (not frostfire) as number three. After that time i've played both a druid and a shaman in the endgame (and i'm getting a paladin to 80 sometime next week), but none of them had that epic feeling my mage had (despite him being a blood elf).
So watch out, in patch 3.3 a mage has been reborn
(he's a terrible mage that ain't hitcapped and struggle to break 2.5k dps but that's what totc is for right?)
Oct 9th 2009 9:02AM Normally i manage to get into the class after playing it for a little while (second/third trash pull) but before that time there have certainly been some mishaps.
MAGMA TOTEM *spamming V button like there's no tomorrow* MAGMA TOTEM...wait, i don't think bears can drop totems (they could however use enrage).
On the other hand using shamanistic rage on my paladin worked suprisingly well as the key was bound to divine plea.
Oct 1st 2009 1:05PM Now to get my paladin to 80 before 3.3
And to get a successful onyxia kill on my shaman
Oct 1st 2009 1:01PM Thankfully for all us who bought the swift flight form from the trainer the quest chain is still aviable. I bought the form at 77 and then went back at 80 and did the quest chain for the chance to farm anzu and to experience the epic quest chain. For all the druids out there that haven't done it i'll say that you've missed a truely epic chain and i hightly suggest you go do it.
In my opinion the epic flight form chain is one of the three things every 80 druid should try to do, the two others being farming anzu for the mount, and grind for the Guardian of Cenarius title. Both of wich are easily soloable at 80 (getting the mount is random but if one keep at it it's boud to drop sooner or later).
Sep 29th 2009 8:58PM Thanks to both of you, I'll probably end up buying the macbook sometime next week. As for the ram i'll have to do a bit of research (thanks for the link).
Sep 29th 2009 8:15PM I posted a question in the new WoW Rookie: A computer to love WoW with post, but this might be the best place for it.
The original post:
I got two question, i just finished a job that gave me about 7000$ and i want to use some of the money to buy my first mac. I've been reading a lot about them online and i decided to buy a macbook pro. I also want to buy another one to replace my old desktop and i'm thinking of getting a mac mini. I'll first buy the macbook and if i like it i'll most likely buy the mac mini.
First question: Will a mac mini be able to run wow smoothly (i'm planning to use it only for wow).
# 2.26GHz Intel Core 2 Duo
# 4GB 1066MHz DDR3 SDRAM - 2x2GB
# 320GB hard drive
# NVIDIA GeForce 9400M graphics
Second question: On my current laptop i'm able to access my desktop by going into the network (if i'm at home) and typing in the username and password. I want to keep using it as a databank as i got quite a lot of music/movies that i occationally want to have access to without plugging in a external harddrive. Is this possible, and if it is can it be password protected.
